Out of Pod Experience

I understand that most Eve players are Euros. And most Europeans probably didn't see it, as the US debates don't really concern them. (And lets face it....Europeans are generally incurious about current events outside their own locality....)

But did any Americans see this tonight?

I've watched quite a few presidential debates over the last 20 years.
I don't think I've ever seen a debate as lopsided as this one.
I mean, ever.

Usually, you generally get a muddy experience where both sides spin the results in their favor and the question of 'Who won' depends on what side of the fence you are on.

But not tonight.

This was the equivalent of Obama being bent over the lectern and having his ******* stretched out with a Louisville Slugger.
Even Jim Lehrer couldn't come to his rescue.

Romney was poised and prepared, spoke directly to the president and ran roughshod over the moderator.
Obama came off as a kid trying to BS his way through a book report, having never read the book - and never making eye contact. He almost seemed insulted that he had to share a stage with Romney.

Even the jokers on MSNBC were simply stupified with how sedated the Prez seemed on stage.
Chris Matthews looked like he had just been through a carwash in a convertable with the top down.

Note to Obama:
Airy-fairy, rambling stump speeches don't work so well when your debate opponent is making pointed attacks on your record....to your face.

This is what happens when you all but avoid press conferences for four years and only go on entertainment shows who toss you softball questions about your favorite color puppy.

Surprise surprise, when he has to defend himself against someone who won't lube up and grab their ankles for him he just can't get it up.

His biggest problem was his attitude. He didn't want to be there and that's not something he can fix. I'm sure he'll improve in the next detbate - he can't really get worse after all. But Romney looked like if Jim Lehrer had said "Let's go another 3 hours!" he'd be game for it. Obama wanted to leave after he introduced himself.
