Agreed. The fact that were even capable of this is a result of a flawed design.

I'm relatively new to the game, but can't you just set the CSPA charge to 1 Billion ISK before you go on a roam (and back to 0 after)? This discourages spammers, and if they try to spam you, they'll notice that you just drained their whole wallet.

The largest CSPA charge you can set is 1 million ISK, which isn't a particularly good deterrent, considering the stakes are likely much higher if someone wants to convobomb you.

1 million ISK is the cap iirc.

If the request is sent to the client even if auto-reject is on, then presumably it's also sent regardless of CSPA charge.

If that's not the case then this problem should be trivially easy to fix.

Users are prompted for the CSPA charge prior to the message being sent.

The host should simply not accept so many convo requests for the same person within a short amount of time. Spam filters and timers in chat rooms are nothing new, they used to exist in the 1980's before the internet became popular. If more than "x" convos are requested with a player within a time-frame, the host should process the first few and give an error/busy message to all the other requesting parties. The fix is absolutely trivial. If the host is actually sending convo requests to players even when they have the block flag on causing them to DC, the programmer responsible needs to be taken out back and shot.

This tactic is used quite often, I've had it used on me. Never DC'd because of it, never lost a ship because of it. But it's a stupid tactic that has nothing to do with internet spaceships and everything to do with sloppy programming.
