many said CCP will cut heavy missile in this winter, is that ture?

How much the DPS of heavy missile will be decreased?

I just got a tengu for Level 4 mission...

after the next patch, the tengu will not longer suitable for level 4 mission?

What should I do..............

thx

OMG SELL NOW.

Tengu won't shoot quites as far. like 90km instead of 120km (whoopee)

DPS will be lower, so it will go a little slower.

By all accounts the Tengu will still be a great ship IMO.

The Tengu will still work, it will just be slower. It never should have been as good as it is... and its never been as good as a battleship anyway.

Train CNR, win.

The adjustment is designed to bring the range and damage of HMLs more in line with the other long range weapons (Railguns, beam lasers and artillery).

At the moment, HMLs can shoot further and do more damage than most of the long range medium sized guns; HMLs are broke, and they are in turn breaking the Tengu (and to a lesser level, the Drake). The fix will not make the Tengu useless, it will just make it more in line with a cruiser than a battlecruiser which might make some other ships more useful and might also make alternate fits for the Tengu useful.

You should still be able to rat and run missions in one due to the massive tank, though it might take a bit longer. For level 4s you really do want a battleship.

Navy raven has best dmagae and is usually the pick.
Theres also the navy scorpion which boasts a bit more tank; it's not really needed but is nice for anyone who likes the extra security.
Depending on your drone skills, and if you have Gallente BS, the Rattlesnake is starting to look decent.
The Golem can salvage and loot while missioning, I don't think it can kill as fast as far away as CNR but don't quote me on it
Your best bet is probably the CNR

Torp Golem is more or less as fast as CNR because the increased amount of midslots, tank and TP bonus allows it to be extremely efficient with Torps. In fact, the only downside to Golem is that it recuires extremely expensive fits to be effective and has very low EHP in them.

Take any of them that you want other than the scorpion (ok, and the blackops aren't that great either). There are viable fits for all battleships, faction battleships, and marauders. Admittedly, some are a bit more demanding than others, but all of them have a fairly good result in missions.

Whine whine whine - grow up and realize that heavy missiles have been needing a nerf for the past 2 years (at least) and CCP is finally getting around to fixing them. Welcome to Eve - nothing stays the same.

Tengu is still going to be an excellent choice for doing 4s if you don't want to put up with mind numbingly slow battleships.

Something tells me that some configurations of Tengu won't even suffer that much range decrease due to locking rage bottleneck (not Dissolution Sequencer fith though), and damage of future HML is something CCP seemingly not entirely sure of.

I am a litttle miffed about the proposed decrease in range and DPS to HMs.

To make it fairer in PvP guns should then fire at the end of the cycle to compensate for the delay in missiles time to target. It was my understanding that the above average performance of missiles was to compensate for the delayed application of DPS.

Seriously though, I am curious what the net effect will be.

i dont think t2 missles are getting hit that hard witch means it will have minimal effects on tengu dps increased explosive radius so it may jump to 130 after rigs not a hugh deal as its what 106 atm so for the most part i dont think these changes will hurt the tengu to much.

I think the damage nerf is a little too drastic, but I hear they are taking out the secondary penalty (large sig radius, lower speed) with t2 missles. That combined with a TE or a TC can now save you the rig slots that used to be require for the tengu to be damage slots instead to make up for the lost damage due to the nerf. I also think t2 missiles will become useful in pvp, but that's just a dream as of right now.

CCP released some more information on missile rebalance.

They also gave a nice spread sheet.

Heavy missiles are the only missile type gettin across the board changes.

All other missiles are only getting t2 changes.

The major change is that fury guided missiles are getting their ranged nerfed to be even with precision.

This means t1 and faction will be our long rane ammo.

Also, guided missile precision will now effect all missile types.
Unguided missiles will be redefined as they're guided missiles.

This info was released just today.
