OP, the thing you're forgetting, is 1. It takes at least two for a successful scam, the scammer and the scamee, sadly you found yourself as the latter, secondly, this is EVE, if it sounds even slightly too good to be true, its higly likely to be a scam. Thirdly, you didn't do your research into the corp you were wanting to join, which is bad in all sorts of ways, least of which, it could have prevented you losing isk.

Final tip for your continuating to play EVE: Don't fully trust anyone, especially when they're being nice to you.

Never does a person smile so sweetly, as they do when they're about to stab you in the back.

understood loud and clear but please note this thread isn't about what happened to me more of a warning to others and help them out and try n make it easier for them to not follow my footsteps, ive learnt from it and well its kinda enhanced my interest in eve in the end. i do thank you for your concern in regards to what happened to me but isnt needed as i am still having a lot of fun with eve

see back then your right i didnt know the corp/alliance i was applying for but i knew they held alot of space and the leadership of said alliance had to be doing something right for it to be a main contender in null space hence my interest and willingness to pay to get in, so in the end was equaly my fault and could argue that i walked into it but like i said this is to inform other new players of the risks

This is upsetting. As a Goonswarm Federation director, I must say that we do not approve of recruitment scams - who was the member that scammed you?

(As a Goonswarm Federation director, I am also available as a third party for transactions such as supercapital trades as well, at a competitive rate!)

You know, the "too good to be true" expression is actualy true sometime.

They offer somethinga long the line of free isk, crazy ship reimbursement plan, showing you the ropes of pretty much anything, logistical support for most activity, ratting/mining in thier relatively safe space and more. The first time I talked to a recruiter, it really sounded way too good to be true after researchign what soem stuff actually meant. (english not being a 1st alnguage is funny sometime)

Basicly, anyone losing isk to a goon recruitement is not putting any effort at all into it.

You want to know what's funny? We do have a crazy ship reimbursement plan, we have members experienced in basically every aspect of the game, we have cheap-as-dirt private logistics services, and while our space isn't "safe" by any stretch of the word, avoiding getting blown is simple if you're not dumb. As far as "free ISK" - well, we paid dudes 500M ISK for every 'decent' propaganda poster (glorified image macros) and horrible video tutorials for newbies. A lot of our doctrine ships are over-reimbursed, so there's that too.

"We are seen as the bully of the game and we will offer you the moon if you join us."

FFS why do people walk into this without checking anything first? The more I read about goons, the more I think thier e-bully rep is only made by a bunch of raging idiots.

I had a guild mate in another game who said he was in GoonSwarm. He was telling me 'Yeah: they'll scam the noobs, but they do take older players seriously" I can shrug off the 500mil and laugh it off that a Goon lied to me in another game. If I ever see him again I'm sure he'll get a chuckle out of it too. Lol

Single player games will get rid of goons with 100% efficiency.

Goon ego be damned, I post to vent my frustrations and with the hope that even a single new player might see this and not make a mistake I'm sure many others have.
