I love the scaling in this image. This is how it should look when you're playing. (Link)

They can put a bounty on you that is a contract for multiple kills and pays portions depending on ship types and pods killed, as I understand it.

It's what is written, at least the :froggie: I am reads it that way. Should no longuer be the loljoke killing your own pod to get the bounty. You are (supposedly) payed proportionally to dmg done to your bounty target witch means as higher the bounty is the bigger will be his losses and your reward at some point, and no one whould be able to avoid this unless dock forever.

Well at least is what we should understand at this point and "information", but it's not like if we were not used to mechanic unwanted effects (FW) or other easy-to-exploit&abuse stuff.

LOL. Its the make hisec safer expansion.

Yet I still see carebears crying and pretending like the 'bounties' are some kind of buff to 'killing people who don't want to be killed'. Its not.

Maybe I'm missing something, but the current bounty system is broken because anybody can just pod themselves in a naked clone and collect. The proposed system allows you to put a bounty on anybody instead of just neg sec-status players. How does this change anything?

It doesn't change the underlying problem one iota.

EDIT: So instead of an 'open ended' bounty, its simply a new type of contract?

Yeah. Because growing numbers of subs is the indication of death... oh... i forgot... "eve is dying" (happily since 2003). And yes, Hisec shouldnt be the griefer haven as it is now. it should also provide retribution. You comite crime? You are a criminal, everybody should kill you. Thats why we call it HISEC.

Ahahaha you seem to think that increased safety will bring more subscribers

Where did i wrote something like that? I just responded to your "eve is dying" post again. There where good expansions, there were bad expansions. All in all this game is progressing., certainly not dying.

Scatim: Highsec has so much provided for them on a plate by NPCs and highsec mechanics that they're effectively insulated from any effects caused by events elsewhere in the game. CCP could delete 0.0 space overnight and 90% of those players based out of highsec would barely notice.

Well not true at all. First of all, thats just your opinion unsupported by anything (if CCP could delete 00 space....). Also T2 and T3 material (+moon goo) is only in null/WH. I can agree with nerfing l4 hisec missions (no reprocesed loot for example) so mining ABC ore in null would be reasonable again. But all in all hisec and low/null coexist in symbiosis. You cannot isolate them (as goon Andski want). Again. i agree that hisec is buffed more than it should be, but i will always be in the opposition on posts like "baaw hisec is secure and we want easy prey".

Can you post me the link where CCP removes PvP in the game?

Maybe hisec-ers are not such bigmouth whiners that just yeling "eve is dying" every single time when new expansion is en-route.

I didnt wrote that there are no hisec whiners. Im just saying that majority of whine comes from nullsec (correction hisec) griefers.

I am both excited and concerned by the new bounty system and the changes to Crime watch.

At this point all I can say is "the devil is in the details", because depending on how these two things are handled this could be either very good or very bad for the game.

Let's just say I am cautiously optimistic. Smile

Well, I've never been a fan of tricking a newer player into combat because he was not familiar with the rules/consequences.

I find it much more satisfying to provoke a fully informed player into making a fatal error. Smile

The majority, eh?

By how much? 73:27? 56:44?

Are we getting the logi destroyers that some devs talked about?
It would compliment assult frig roams alot.
Or did they scrap that idea?

I hope there is alot more to the expansion then a mining frig and some icons.

All seems to be good but to be honest I'm not sure about the crimewatch system. Having a few agro icons on the top left seems to be a good idea but making this information public is surely not. The whole point of eve is to have a diverse universe where gameplay is open for limitless creativity. Gankers, pirates and all other crime related players (including me) like the fact that they use intel and deception efficiently to lure other players which mostly take the risk on their gounds anyway to have a bit of hot-gun action. If my previous actions will have too much consequences and prevent me from taking future actions ineficiently I'm basically out of eve along with my few alts and most probably a few friends too (which live in the same neighbourhood as I). The brutality of null and the hard efficiency of high-sec pvp will be hammered with crimewatch. After the patch is deployed the pvp average per day in high-sec will dramatically drop and the game will lean towards a carebear style gameplay... This in my opinion in completely unacceptable since I only play the game to pvp anyway... I urge CCP to make proper planning before deploying this patch and consider the real consequences crimewatch will bring... Most of the legend gameplayers are out of eve that used to roll in the carrier era and they aren't really coming back. You ask them and 80% will say the same thing which is "pvp became as hard as it could get!" Criwatch I think is the final official barrier that will hender this fact even further. The first few weeks I plan to make it test run... If my deception and piriting abilities are hindered in any way I'll have to say bye to eve and get back to WOW... I hope I don't have to...

I consider it all to be decent game enhancements. Even the GUI enhancements with the targets indicating Shield, Armor and Hull status in a ring around the targets - it just looks better.

The Bounty system will probably have some teething problems - as may Crimewatch, but I doubt anything will become a game-breaker.

Look, whatever happens, I want a spiffy, new Caldari Destroyer. Just because it looks so damned good.
