Miners were too....thickheaded(?) to learn to tank and mine at the same time, so CCP made it easier for them by buffing Barges/Exhumers. Perhaps now if the whines and cries of the unskilled pvp'er can saturate the forums, CCP will buff all other ships to make them un-ECM-able. But then it only continues when all the blackbird/falcon pilots take to the forums and collectivly pee themselves on the forums with rage.....

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Some good posts, some obvious usual trolls.

Good idea about flying ECM for a year to find out ways to counter, although I don't think I could stand that.

Picking targets is one thing, when ECM boat is also cloaked it adds another obstacle to it.

If I were moaning to CCP, I'd be petitioning or putting it in an ideas forum. This is GD, so I'm discussion it, generally Cool.

Well I got a decent fight in the end tonight, went out all guns blazing and took a couple with me. Both sides of PvPers happy. So that's rebuilt a little more confidence in solo PvP. But it's still a dying part of the game.

I dunno tbh, 1 overloaded eccm on a deimos lets me pop the falcon about half the time, so it seems to be working fine tbh. Now a falcon getting reps is another story, or a falcon you can't get to because you are tackled but then solo pvp in a mmo is not meant to be easy. If ecm was nerfed the same guys would probably still kill you with you flailing weakly at them in some other way.

I literally lol'd hard when you said ECCM. Thanks for playing!

Ships with ECCM take many more ECM modules to keep consistently jammed. Doesn't necessarily help the solo pilot, but then, as I said, if you fly solo, your job is to pick your targets so that you don't have to deal with ECM at all.

Please name a target where ECM does not affect you.

Any target that does not fit ECM modules.

Remember, Target Picking and Target Calling are not the same thing. One you do before the fight starts, one you do once the fight's started.

I've had much sucess against ECM, I'm a pure gallente pilot and roll with Spurs and ECCM, and very very rarely get jammed, I suggest using implants (don't know the set for minmatar ships but grab those should be dirt cheap because of facwar store)

heres my ECM story

i was flying along in my rapier, moving a cyno to a midpoint to pick up some stuff in Fountain

i landed at some scrub's drag bubble after he scouted me in the previous system with his falcon alt, and then he started shooting me with his sabre while getting his falcon in (lol)

so in the process of his falcon jumping and warping my way, i had him tackled while shooting him and engaging him with drones

his falcon landed, jammed me and they both warped off :(

That's the thing. You could have FoF missiles, drones etc but you still have no point/web/tp and any other similar kind of mod.

see, there's a counter to ECM

jump in with an ewar-immune ship and 0wn them (or heh, more likely, rep yourself and/or get a bunch of neuting BS dropped on you)

It is?

Because, you know, when you solo PvP, I would think that the prevalence of fleets was the thing that's killing solo PvP. Most people fly in fleets, after all.

What is a good target to engage while jammed?

If you engage a jamming ship then you have already made the first mistake. See my first statement. Why solo players seem to think they should be able to indiscriminately kill without actually thinking about the targets they shoot is beyond me. I've lived for days in bat country picking off select targets. Try idk... fitting a cloaking device or something and not just diving at the first thing you see.

Please read my previous comments, I believe that covers this.

I'm not new to PvP. I'm not some random guy who's just had his first taste of PvP and got bitten. I have done many different kinds of pew over the years. ECM is just overpowered in my opinion. It is far too easy to sit up to what, 80km away(?) and lock out a target and be in absolutely no danger whilst your alt in a T1 frig slowly chips away at a battleship without the battleship having a chance of doing anything. Just doesn't seem right.

I'll pray it works for you P

OT though. OP. EVE is a sandboxed MMO. Solo PVP does not have the right to exist within the game. It is only a choice. You choose to go Solo. This does not mean everyone else MUST also go solo. Now the point of combat is to win. Pointless going into a firght just to lose. If someone brings 30 Nyx's to kill an Ibis, that is their perogative. Just as it is your perogative to engage any ship you see. Don't be moaning if it doesn't go your way, just because your opponent(s) didn't play to your expectations.

Compensate against a module that shuts off all projected effects from a ship...

Learn to counter ECM through pure player skill...

Both are impossible unless you know you're going against ECM. 99% of the time, you won't.

99% of the time you are going against ECM, so we have a counter to that. Smile Not ECM, but that argument of yours anyway.

I am not sure what you are advocating here. There was no such thing as a fair fight since the third person on the planet was born. Of course you cant take one small cheap ship into a group and expect to win. Street fights dont work that way either.

I chased the OP's battleship (while alone in a frigate) for around ten minutes last night while he went from safe to safe. I'm pretty sure it's not just ECM that's killing solo PvP.

Hell, if you want to complain, ECM drones are a bigger problem than Falcons ever were, and I guarantee you he's carrying a flight or two.

I like to fight ECM and get jammed all over my face.
