Hi All,

I have an opportunity to provde feedback to a Gaming PC Manufaturer around their extended warranty and what would really offer value to a Gamer, I am talking about high end gaming market here.

As we are all gamers I would like to here what services would you be willing to pay for. 2 Example's are below,

1. As part of you warranty cover you pay X $'s €'s which will entitle you to have your graphics card & Memory or other components upgraded to a certain level for free after 18 months to keep your PC at cutting edge.

2. Subscription to popular gaming communities like IGN for the lenght of your warranty.

These are just 2 idea's, I am happy to hear any ideas no matter how crazy, I plan on providing feedback this coming monday, So tell me what you think.

Regards

Synergistically-offered warranties including support and maintenance.

So - whatever part fails, they collect the part and replace it in the same visit, next day or same day, even if that day is the hottest/ coldest/wettest/driest day on record for 100 years, and, even if it is the 25th of december.

This is under the assumption that whomever supplied the rig, put the rig together.

I'd pay for that.

Seriously...whenever some muppet tries to sell me extended warranties or warranties of any kind that have words in them like 'working days' or 'return to base' , I tell them to foxtrot oscar.

The company in question already offers either a replacement part next business if you want to fit it your self or an engineer to do it. Is there anything else above and beyond this that would matter to you as a Gamer.

Totally agree warranties where you need to be without your gaming rig for a number of days are not good at al.

Gaming rig warranty?

These words have no meaning to me.

Wait, you mean there are people that don't build their own? You would actually prefer some random sweatshop worker in China to build your computer for you?

cover possible damage from overclocking. or if that's not allowed, allow aftermarket coolers and the such to be installed without voiding warranty.

Yea, After working with tech support with one of the most popular PC developers (you're probably using one right now and NO, it's not Dell I'm talking about), Warranties are useless most of the time. Now I completely agree with the option for the customer to replace parts on their own. Just have like a little tech quiz you provide to engage their knowledge base. If they are smart enough to do google searches and figure out the answers to the quiz, they are smart enough to get the information to replace the parts or they could call a technician to walk them through it. If they have a friend or family that could do it, they should take the quiz. Personally, I like building my own and it gives me a sense of accomplishment and there is no third party "bloat"ware to get in the way and cause problems.

Learn how to do it yourself and save on the extended warranties, then you can gloat to your friends how you saved a bomb with your own IT support.

Then make money out of them!

Last PC system I bought was in the first one back in 1994, built and upgraded my own since then.
