Please define 'colourful language' CCP Gargant & please tell me what you have against it

That's not the topic of discussion here. The in-game chat channels follow other rules and are moderated by other people. What I'm saying is that if you leave out the name calling and scale back the amount of bad manner in your discussions on the forums and thus post constructively, I'm ready to err on your side and maybe even let a few things slide.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or berate you in any way. I'm just trying to list my approach to the moderating I do. I bring that approach to all of the discussions I am included in, and being pretty loud I usually make sure my point of view is heard.

Colorful language that I find completely unnecessary includes words like armchair fascists, pricks, butt frustrated, samefag and low life douchebags. I'm still letting a few of our rules slide in that post such as not being allowed to discuss moderation.

I am an avid supporter of criticism, opinion and discussion. If you leave out the insults and the attacks, you can convey a different point or disagree with someone strongly. Just do it within the rules.

The in-game chat does not carry a rating which is clearly stated before you sign into the client, the eve forums however carry a 12 rating and therefore have to be moderated for language, what's hypocritical is you trying to state rules when you clearly pay no attention to them...

Nothing will ever be perfect but..
Now we have volunteers locking every thread in sight because of any arbitrary non reason you care to pick.
It makes me suspicious & I believe it's doing the forums a disservice.

The mod objected to my deliberate use of 'colourful language' fair enough, but I still maintain the thread would have been locked had I not used 'colourful language'.
Any thread can be locked for any reason at any time, & they are being locked for offensive reasons.

I had no idea there was an official thread on this; just goes to show what over achievers can do. Lol

..sorry, upon closer inspection, I realized that was the thread that started all this. I realize there may have been an issue before, but it has only really gotten marginally worse since then. Posting Nirvana this is not.

I'll grant it's not bad, but there are a few threads I would have liked to respond to or discuss that were locked for no apparently good reason the last week or so.

If you knew the thread was going to be locked regardless and that was your intent then why use colourful language? Does scientific method not mean anything to you? You attempted to prove a point and failed by using colourful language, is that why your upset?

Furthermore CCP Gargant is NOT an ISD volunteer, he is an employee/dev of CCP, so you failed to bait your real target in addition to the above.

Simply put you have achieved nothing here that typing "I am a Douchebag!" would not have achieved.

That doesn't apply to the 12+ rated forums, only to in-game material.

Well if it was truly a 'cold, dark and harsh world' on the forums then a community dude could come along and ban you permanently for no reason. That would be the epitome of harsh Blink

Thankfully, we adhere to guidelines and the first of those guidelines are that this is a teen rated forum and the language used should reflect that.

Ok Gargant, you've handled me beautifully, seriously though, I promise next time to fill out the form.

Trouble is the lock is probably justified under the rules somehow, almost any thread can be locked for something.

My concern is the fervor & regularity & bloody minded pettiness I encounter almost everytime I come here. Good discussions ended for minor infractions, I suggest this is not good for the forums or the community & you guys are ultimately going to have to choose, good active forums with lively debate & discussion & it's run on effects with the wider EvE community or staid, bland, dull topics that don't attract any heated discussion or general emotion, thought, wit, or anything very interesting beyond the day to day drudgery of wine threads or blatant nepotism.

I'm sure this has all been said before & I'm doubly sure I'm not telling you guys something you don't already know. But I'm glad I said it again & somebody listened.

Odyssey: Repacking in POS hangars for modules +1,  but please for other stuff too, especially containers. Make containers openable in POS hangars.

All this may be true in your case. But T40 is running wild on the forums inspiring threads like this one. Many of us so enrage anything can set us off at this point. Also nothing wrong with armchair fascists.
