Get a first job. Eve sub is 2 hours work at minimum wage. Less than an hour if you are a skilled worker. Minutes if you are well paid.

Eve is and always has been a second job. Even if you're not doing the grinding stuff, you're doing the other grinding stuff.

In what other game do you get interviewed to join a corp as seriously as serious corps do their interviewing in Eve?

I saved the damsel for surely more than 100 times and did´nt get laid once. You made me feel bad, OP.

Oh and yes, paying ccp with my credit card. I feel that one job is enough for me.

Doesn't CCP intervene in the Plex market in some way if the price goes too high?

Might be wrong, but I hazily recall reading that somewhere.

Eve is whatever you make it. Thats the beauty of the sandbox. If it is getting too much like a second job for you, then its you thats making it into a job.

Plus, if you cant play without grinding up a PLEX every month, you may want to look at your RL finances.

(unless you enjoy grinding for the PLEX. but then itsd a game rather than a job, right)

So understandably most MMO's have a grind feel, EVE especially either be it with grinding missions for standings, isk, loot or just getting laid by saving the damsel for the 1,000th time. But with the ever increasing prices of the plex market has EVE turned in to a second job? For example current prices for sell orders are around 515 mil pushing 600 mil, have we crossed the red line to where the avg. NoOb player will have diffuculty making their plex payment every 30 days? Not to mention the casual players. If not the 600 mil mark then what's the red line for the plex market to where grinding isk for your plex is obtainable unless you quit Real life.

Discuss,

All you have to do, is look at the numbers lately logged in around 20:00 and 01:00 to see people are quitting

No where near 50k

below 40 = to many systems, not enough players

below 30 = eve is dead

below 20 = sov warfare will be thousands of tiny alliances fighting over key systems and the rest of null not being used

Personally?

Looking forward to it :)

Or you could for over the $15 per month and actually play the game.

EVE only becomes a JOB is you make it a job. My goal is to enjoy myself and that is what I do.

I have job, and I get paid real money for doing it. I do not have to grind for isk to play, if I did have to do that, I would not play. If a game feels like a job, why are you playing? When my sub gets low, CCP sucks another 90 day payment out of me, works pretty good. Big smile

I'm a nerd, you can check my stats!! Skilling Int/Mem at 45 sp per minute is how I mack!     I'm like a lapdog, all bark no bite.

I generally agree with the idea that if a person thinks plex prices are too high, they should not be using plex for game time. I make more than enough isk doing in game activities i find enjoyable plex makes sense for me.

What I always object to is that idiotic "get a job" fallacy not so smart people pull out everytime a discussion of paying a sub vs using plex comes out. Too lazy to retype it all, so i'll just quote myself from a recent discussion on the same freaking issue....

If PLEX (probably THE cash cow that lets eve continue and expand to the point it has) goes away, I'd surely go from 4 accounts to maybe 2 (or one and just become a cyno beggar for my carrier lol).

I do get a kick at the folks who talk about how easy it is to pay with cash, the whole "2 hamburgers a month" thing. What they don't get is that every single individual experiences different circumstances and preferences.

Under the circumstances I could not justify to myself or my family a 60 dollar a month bill to play a game with 12 characters, not when we are trying to save for college and put other cash away for other things. And overtime? any overtime I get goes to the same goals.

I work in law enforcement, like hell I'm going to sign up for extra shifts to deal with knuckle heads and tweakers so i can play a video game. I'd much rather spend that time at home drinking beer shooting the **** with some bros on comms while doing Incursions or exploring to get the isk to keep playing the game.

What I DO have in abundance is TIME because of my wacky work schedule, time when the wife is at work or away on business, when the kids are at school or with my parents or in-laws, or when I take some of the mandatory "well being leave" my employer makes us take to get away from the stress of the job. Many people find EVE PVE boring, but after a 10 hour shift of dealing with pure human crap, it's down right relaxing.

PLEX lets me turn that free time into game time. It's literally one of the coolest things about EVE.

I'm financially secure IRL, so I really don't care about paying monthly subs for my 2 accounts. It's a drop in the ocean - nothing to me.

"Turned into"? Did you not read the EULA? Do you not wear your "CCP Guinea pig" badge with pride?

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

MMORPGs are pretty much second jobs anyway.

However, PLEX being worth so much ISK, and my time being worth a good amount of RL money, I'm on the 3-month plan.

And for all the grinding and hoops one is made to jump through do we get medical insurance or 401k? Nope...

Maybe its time EVE corporations were introduced to the concept of unions. Twisted

I love how some people seem to equate being financially secure with being willing to spend $30 or more a month to play a video game. Straight

13% of the human population goes to bed hungry every night, while others feel the urge brag that they're financially stable enough to spend $30 or more a month on a video game..... wtf is wrong with humanity.
