I have a question regarding resistances.

Say I have 75% shield resists for explosive does that mean my shield blocks 75% of all explosive damage?

thanks

Yes. If you get hit by 100 explosive damage, the shields will be damaged by 25 points.

Another way of looking at it is that 25% damage gets through, 100/25 = 4

It will take 4x the explosive damage to get through your shields relative to the amount of EM damage your shields can take (assuming your shields have 0% EM resists, which most ships have by default)

If you get all shields/armor resists up to 90%, each hitpoint of shield/armor is now worth 10x as much.

Seen this doing the rounds recently

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Please Note: Any advice given comes with the caveat that nothing will be suitable for every situation.
