Mining and trading

So I just started a new character, and I'd like get some tips about training the skills for this one..

I never really paid attention to mining and trading till I got into pvp.. and with the amount of losses I made in the last month..
I just can't keep my wallet full with money if I'm losing my ships too often..

So this character is made for trading, but I need some advise with the skill planning and how to get started with trading, and possibly mining too

For trading, just look at so you can get Accounting 5, Broker Relations 5 and add skills to expand market orders as needed. Also, read the other skills there to see which you may need depending on the type of trading you want to do. If you want to do regional trading, you need a hauler. Eventually a freighter even.

For mining, look at the retriever and get those skills + t2 strip miners + crystals, t2 mlu's and your golden. Afterwards it's improving the yield by going for higher astrogeology / exhumers / orca boost etc. But by the time you reach that, you will know what you have to do with the skills.

Also, look into increasing the standings for the station you are trading in. You can lower the brokers fee by 2-4x with good standings, on top of the skills.

You might be suprised how nice it is to have combat and trade on the same character so you can use your standings for better margins.
