If they have to come to you to fight with the shuttles,
Drop a warp bubble be instalocking popping and have a warp scram(the longer the range the better)
They come into pop the pocos and instead you pod them and can then kill the fighters
Do it right and you may very well pod them out of their pos

IMO triggering and despawning all their sites is not a good idea if you want to cause trouble. You want to give them reasons to come out of the tower and do some PVE. Even if you cannot take the carriers, they might sortie for PVE in something else more manageable.
