I have decided to change focus in the game and yet i have like 30million sp in industry. I would like a function to unlearn skills at say half the learn rate. the unlearnt points can then be applied to another skill. or would enhance the learn rate of the current learning skill in progress.

There were lots of skill reset proposals. An "unlearn quene" is the only one to date that doesn't carry "insta fotm" problem. +1

Sell character
Buy new character with skills you like.

Problem solved.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Which is also known as "insta-fotm." The existing character buy/sell mechanics is there to make CCP money, and is worse for the game than what OP is proposing.Roll

Buying a character sounds dandy till you see that others want 50billion for a similar sp toon

Not this argument again............

What if you want to change your focus back? Would you just keep doing this back and forth back and forth? Kinda pointless to do. PVP players just change their SP to industry when they need isk and then pay up again to change their focus back to PVP once they have enough isk. At this point your might as well implement SP buying with RL Cash.

Yes a system to reclaim SP would be nice but you should figure out what you want to do and just change your focus to what you want it to do.

Just do one of the following:
1) buy another character with what you want it to do.
2) make a new character to do what you want to do.
3) Just train up the skills and stop complaining about it.
4) Get some +5's in your head and remap for a year's worth of training. You will train faster for what you want.

You chose what to train. That is something I like about EVE your choices do have consequences just like in Real life. You don't just hit the reset button (while some of us would LOVE to do so) and learn a new profession in the real world you have to learn the new skills.

This is my gate. There are many others like it, but this one is mine. My gate is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my gate is useless. Without my gate, I am useless.

LoL, comes to mind. i don't believe that skill books have to be lost from ones head. And i know that you could sit down and review what you have and i bet you have several almost never used sp laying around.

There already is no consequence because you can achieve "insta-fotm" by buying character. A slow unlearn process would actually teach kids the virtue of patience. It builds character...Lol

Rl sp purchasing would help ccp make a fatter wallet for some time then would ruin the game and hurt the players true experience with the game.

Also if a wish to constantly wait months to juggle a many millions of sp back and forth isn't that my choice. Plus i was talking about unlearning at half rate. so that 5 million sp would take a long time to work threw.

Yes but someone had to train up that character to their current abilities so it's not really insta.

I was really hoping for a simple feature and all you think of is buying toons. which leaves me to believe you bought your characters. I built this one from the ground up years of good and bad days. So now some one says my only option is to sell it and buy another. Horrible option.

I followed a part of the game that seemed fun making things and all. Yet ccp has done nothing for it. So i wanted to build towards combat wich is the only focus of CCP.

I actually have had this character from day 1. You are welcome to search the forums for my name of being sold and there would be none. So before you decide to accuse people of something please make sure you have your facts straight. I have sold characters as I didn't have a need for them anymore. I have yet to buy one.

I gave you 4 options to chose from if you didn't like one of them there are 3 more. Below are the two others then that would make the most sense then for what your looking to do.

2) make a new character to do what you want to do.
4) Get some +5's in your head and remap for a year's worth of training. You will train faster for what you want.

Yes RL SP purchasing would hurt players overall which is why i said at that point you might as well have something like that because from what you are suggesting from is that you will gain x amount back from the group you want to get back and just insta-drop it into other skills. Kinda like when they removed Learning and Social skills. And it was your choice to put 30m Sp into industry there had to be a reason for it got to live with it. I got a bunch of Sp in industry but I'm living with it, yes i would like to get rid of them but I never know if one day they might become useful again.

Yes it would be nice but I changed it up a long time ago so I don't have that problem. Also I have been in several good industry corporations including some that make capital ships and got paid really well from it. It all depends on the corporation/alliance that you fly with which makes your experience good or bad in industry.

On the other hand, it already exists, and doesn't require CCP to make changes to the game code (which will invariably end up causing problems - I'd be pretty pissed if they accidentally stopped character training for everyone for a few days because they were trying to fix a non-existent problem).

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

whats the point of of advancing any thing when what we have is claimed to work. why should they have added a skill queue when it was working before.

ill tell you cause people wanted it and ccp thought it was a nice feature now you wouldn't live with out it.

Are you saying your happy with the training queue how it is? If so then why would you want redeemable skill points? (Sorry if I didn't understand fully kinda confused)
