I flew both my alts to D2-HOS, then i went to Odamia, upon arriving there (15 minutes after "start" time), finding only 3 ppl in local, i searched for the Mass Test Channel, jumped in, found nobody in there. So i jumped around to some of the planets, looked at the districts, then AP'd back home.

Sorry for seeming slightly frustrated at your asking 'what date and server'...the frustration comes from the fact that question seems on par with CCP's general behavior this year. Not meant to offend, just being honest.

I had a short look at server logs and it seems like you arrived with one of your alts in D2-HOS at 22:21 UTC (=eve time), when the mass test was already over. The mass test started at 20:00 and lasted until 21:00.

Why not pin the test dates with this format title, Duality Mass Test (M/D/Y) Time at (System). You could easily tell people what you are testing and let them know what they need in advance. That way everyone is on the same page and will make tests go more smoothly. If they miss the mass test, then it be their fault for not checking the Test Server Feedback Forums.

Anyways I can't access Buckingham, but I can access Duality due to mirror. I had my character since 2008, but this is a new account, so practically got to wait till the next mirror for Buckingham, while sadly Duality is closed at the moment. Can I get any information when Duality will be reactivated again?

This was the title of the announcement thread: "Mass test on Buckingham on Thursday, 27th September at 20:00 UTC"
Sure, the format was slightly different compared to your proposal, but the important information was included. I assume the main problem here is with time zones. Do you have any good idea on how to add the time zone information in a better way?

Well there can be three main time zones you can display. U.S. time zone, Europe time zone, and Asian time zone which are your three biggest user bases. This will allow for most of the users who play the game to actually get the time right. I usually go by the central time zone here in America. This can be displayed in the forum.

I don't think people pay much attention to the in-game time zone, because it is on the bottom left hand and very hard to notice. Why not move it to the top of the screen so people have it right next to your targeting, that way they know what time it is in the game.

UTC isn't an EVE time term, it's Coordinated Universal Time. Just like if we were to write PST (Pacific Standard Time). The fact that UTC is the same as EVE time is mainly coincidental, and there isn't really any such thing as "US time zone"

I think the problem with the time zones is that a lot of people don't know what the different abbreviations are, and if you add the 1 hour difference for summertime (which EVE does not). Personally I'm not really bothered as I live in UTC +1 so I know EVE time is either 1 or 2 hours ahead, depending on the time of the year.

At least what I feel is easiest is sticking with the UTC, most people should know how many hours to subtract or add to the UTC (GMT) time.

UTC reference chart: Time Zones

EDIT: I feel EVE time might be as good a reference as any. At least I always use EVE time when I make corp ops. Not very difficult to know how many hours off EVE time you are. Just glance at your system time and EVE time once and you know it for the rest of your life.
