I want to get into exploration.
I have palyed Eve on an off for many years and only now I want to try it :)

I have a second account so I can do sites in pairs.

I have done 1 so far in a couple of Drakes, but I keep reading about bonused ships.
Whch ships from Cruiser the Battle Cruiser would be better for me to use?

As for Skills I think that I need for such a career, I have Sensor Linking, Signal Dispersion, Signature Analysis, Survey, Salvaging, Archeology, Astrometric aquisition, Astrometric Pinpointing, Astrometric Range Finding, Astrometrics, hacking to name but a few all at lvl 5 on both CH's

I've mainly done m,issions, mining and a bit of nnja ratting/mining in 0.0

My first attempt was to scan a wormhle in a Heron, then switched to my Dakes and went in.
Yep, the worm hole collapsed and left me stranded with 2 Drakes. I didn't have probes on my combat ships.
So, 2 x self destucts and pod destructs, was a lesson well learned.

I only fly Caldari boats.

Well to be honest I am a complete noob when it comes to worm holes and exploration. This is my first attempt, which I could see was quite good from looting alone, I wasn't equipped with salvage gear or hacking type modules, or sensors so I got stuck , but it did show me enough to get my interest :)

I suppose I'd like to loot rats, salvage and maybe see if I can hack sites and such.

I go through phases when I play loads and then some when I'm not on in months. That's what is
so good about this game, I can always put on skills when I can't play.

I see this as a new challenge to get a different experience :)
P.S. this is my alt of Stlletto :)

First off a few basics about wormholes in general, not just exploration.
- (learn to) use directional scanner and be ready to leave when you see probes or a ship there
- fit a probe launcher on most (if not all) ships
- before entering with combat ships, check the wh for POSes, class and activity, also do research on POS owners (killboards)

Now exploration should be first practised outside of wormholes. Once you are comfortable and quick at scanning and you know what each signature type means you can start thinking about doing those sites in wormholes.

Start with dual drakes (remote repair or local tank fit - check battleclinic) in class 1 and class 2 and doing only anomalies first (scannable with on-board scanner).
As you build confidence (and have a few losses or close calls) you can optimize your fits and try the radars and magnetometrics. Note that these sites are pretty much the equivalents to class 3 wh anomalies.

You can expect 10-50mil per salvaged anomaly from c1-2

Thanks for the advice, that sounds like a good way to practice skills :)
