After hearing about the warp to zero skill that you could train to improve the autopilot i think i kinda like the idea. Basically you will train a skill, which at level 5 will have increased the precision of your autopilot with 10km. This means you will land approximately 5km from gates or stations when autopiloting

Why would anyone train this?

Alternatively: why do we need to encourage more AFK play by making it more efficient?

I guess people would train it to make the auto pilot more convenient, and thus traveling in general. It would free up time to focus on other activites either within the game or out. Corp chat, market orders, spreadsheets or what not. Besides, people are "AFK" anyway when traveling

This will result in more idiots losing ships since they think with the skill its safe in lowsec.

I'm all for it.

Agreed. More AFK autopiloters in low/null are a welcome addition to my list of targets.

At what point do things become too convenient?

Their does come a point where a game becomes so dumbed down and "convenient" that any sort of challenge related adrenaline rush ceases, leaving nothing to do but tedious farming for tedious pvp, and when a game reaches that stage it's membership numbers usually sink like the Titanic.

Please don't step over that ledge CCP, challenge is what makes an MMO worth playing.

Because pressing "jump" once every minute or so (instead of warp to zero and then jump like it used to me) so too hard.

Actually go for it, more idiots autopiloting and i can save SP by never training it and still travelling faster

It's not been nice, but thanks for using lube

I support this idea with the following requirements:

Without the skill, autopilot should warp you to 65km.

Each level of skill can reduce that distance by 10km.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

You mean those all important shuttle kills, that no respectable killboard even counts as real kills?

I'm all for it tbh. Why shouldn't this change? Unless you people actually enjoy sitting at your computers pushing jump every minute.

This is a dumb idea. If CCP makes it a skill then essentially everyone will train it and it will become the standard. CCP needs to think long term. There is an 'eventuality' to Eve in that there is no hard cap on skills and eventually everyone will have 100mil SP+ eventually.

Doesn't add anything to gameplay as well.
