Polish: "oręż osoba nak" = "however individual weapons" or "however personal weapons"... no clue if it makes grammatical sense in Polish. I tried to go back to the Greek, "πρόσωπον" which can mean "person" or "face", but it's structure is so far from Osobnyk that it seems an unlikely match. The Latin is no better with "personam" and "faciem". The C̶y̶r̶i̶l̶l̶i̶c Slavic languages are consistently the better matches.

oręż osoba nak doesn't mean anything. oręż is a historical word for "weapon" (noone would call a gun "oręż"), osoba is "person" nak doesn't mean anything (looks like a one of the endings of some word)

Brilliant, have you read the book Poezye? or does Osobn help with the translation at all?

The best I have come up with is osobnyk sounds very close to insomniac... If I understand the grammar, though, nyk would sound like neetz in Polish..

Given the retcon to the Jove page, though, in Jovian it would be something like O es o be en wie kay..

Apparently something like radical Taa..? I imagine the sound you hear when you complete a voice call to a fax machine..Lol

Anyone see more than gibberish in that? Seems to have some correlations in Spanish..

It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then, and it's a poor sort of memory that only works backward.

@Huckstero

Sweet, thanks the insight, I was getting that sense about "oręże".

"Czy mogę z Tobą porozmawiać na osobności"? (does this transliteration work?: "Can I, of you, talk in separation?")

If so, how does the translation of "oręże osobność" as "sword of separateness/separation/privacy/aloneness/loneliness" sound?

I'm laboring under the notion that the phrase has been corrupted by time to be grammatically weird. Like "demin" coming from "de Nimes". Also, I'm clearly using letter and sound substitutions in places since sounds tend to migrate over time, and, also because, English lacks letters to produce certain sounds.

So how would "oręże osobnik" translate? "sword of the individual", "individual sword"? Or is it just non-sense? Does it sound like there's something it should mean or could mean?

Broken down, each individual letter holds meaning in it's own right.. For instance, Oruze means O-Eye, Rooz or Ruze-Day, Eye of the Day or Sun, or even Mata Hari in another language, which Dropbear suggested as Light..

O-Eye
S-Tooth
O-Eye
B-House
N-Snake or Fish
Y-Hook or Peg or Spear or Path of Virtue\Vice
K-Hand or Palm or Grip

Haven't sorted much out of that, yet... An Eye Tooth is a Fang, but sob means to cry, An Eye House is a Watchtower, snake can be a verb, too, meh, dunno... From all the clues Dropbear provided, and the examples he gave, Osobnyk as a complete word, in any language, is simply the wrong answer.. He already told us it doesn't mean passenger train..

The original phrase for denim was not simply de Nimes, it was Serge de Nimes, as bluejeans came from Genes, the city in Italy where they were first manufactured, and they were dyed with indigo...

I'd be more inclined to associate it with Osojnik and Dubrovnik as some kind of multicultural mega-city, if I didn't think it had a deeper meaning..LOL, ya know, looking at it, it is the reputed area for the martyrdom of St. Valentine, who miraculously restored a girl's sight... Eyesight seems to be all over this mystery..

Shocked Wow, no wonder a clinical psychologist was so interested in the Sleepers, and non-military advances their technology could contribute to, he would have been obscenely famous and rich.. And that's only a single further clue..

Anyone figured out what the Oruze Enclave's and the Osobnyk's are for yet? Blink

Might as well add the Constructs as MegaCities under construction for a HUGE population, time dilation not only increases scientific productivity...................

Certainly seems like a better subject for the IGS than how ugly we Caldari are..Twisted

Oruze Construct

Oruze Osobnyk

The Oruze Osobnyk looks like a more complete version than Oruze Construct. So could that mean Construction or Construct, or perhaps more duality.

These seem to be different, I've suspected they might be Von Neumann Machines (self replicating structures)

I wonder if anybody has every guarded one of these perhaps they regenerate or grow. That what happens?

The Oruze Construct looks like a starting state for the Oruze Osobnyk. Simplest explanation would be a phase of construction.

Von Neumann probes definitely fit with what the Sleeper drones do; if you look at the entirety of the network. I would further venture that the Mirrors could be utilized to adapt Sleeper drones to fulfill pretty much any function of self-replicating spacecraft, from Berserker drones to Seeder ships, in addition to their Von Neumann Probe functionality.

Expanding that theory, I'd tentatively suggest that Jamyl's "Other" is such a probe given the criteria presented.

As points of reference on this;

The EVE Gate isn't the wormhole that it facilitates passage through.
The EVE Gate (New Eden Side) was built with materials, and enscribed with the text that baffles scientists to this day.
The volume of resources used by the Talocan in their W-space structures is vast.
The Talocan Structures served a purpose.
Those Talocan Purposes were no longer required by the time the Sleepers dominated the landscape.
Talocan and Sleeper come from different language sets.
Talocan language seems to have a Caldari affinity.
Of each of the inherent references to the colonisation of New Eden. The method of planetary acquisition is different: Tau Cetian's buy Gallente Prime, 'a megacorporation' buys Caldari Prime, Dano Gheinok directs the Amarrians to Athra and the system named CMS-17 is discovered (later renamed Pator).
Amarrians are the only sole surviving race that require the decision of one person to drive the society forward.

By the time the Minmatar colonise Matar, they no longer need to purchase the rights, as it is outside the claim boundary of the original claimants to enter New Eden.

The stargates take only a few hundred years at most to build, and are in existence prior to the re-education of the races to interstellar travel, as they are discovered after the dark ages by the current empires.

The Talocan in W-Space would have established their structures where they needed to be (like a well at an Oasis), however, by the time the Sleepers occupy the same space they use Perimeter Gates, which hints at a secure territorial boundary. Given that Cyno Jamming is prevalent in Empire Space and later adapted to be deployed in Sovereign Space, it is less likely a gate is there for evocative purposes than the more likely admission system.

In a situation whereby the majority of ships have system to system jump drives (systems where no gate is present) the presence of a Star Gate or Jump Gate Network is obsolete.

For this reason I'm leaning towards the Osobnyk structures being the pre-cursors of the Construct structures. If you are making a city you need a plan, a digital city housing the entire population can't be pushed through without the assurances of all concerned that it is a working method.
