I love Freespace 2.

An Eve-based space combat shooter would be wonderful, with all the ships we know and love, the music, that familiar computer voice, and perhaps a damsel in distress.

I'm thinking fighter and fighter-bombers could be the only ships from eve that could transition from space, into the atmosphere, and onto the planet. You could dock up in an EvE players carrier. There would be PvE missions too.

Ideas?

After DUST there will be two years of trying to bugfix its integration with Eve. Then two more years until WiS. Then two more until the alpha of World of Darkness or whatever it was called.

They just had a 3 week vacation!

Anyways I think gamers as a whole are lazier and don't want to use a joystick and fly flight/space sims anymore. Come on people! Zero G flying like in Battlestar Galactica!

CCP needs to cancel Dust and concentrate on Eve 100% of time.

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

CCP also has to make money! That's what Dust is. Diversifying their portfolio. When WiS is done, you can train lvl5 clap skill to clap PS3 players in the back of their heads!

So I take it that nobody gives a $##+ about EVE, the space sim idea?

EDIT: I don't want to replace the current game mechanics of EVE. I'm just looking at the modularity of Dust and how flying fighters from carriers can be its own game.

Fine, they can make Dust, but stop trying to make it interact with Eve. It should be a stand alone game. It's fine if it's in the Eve universe, but there ARE PS3 players that do not have 'net access.

And their are plenty of first person shooters for PS3 that do not require an internet connection, try those. P
