I hear you. There are a lot of great things about this game. One of the best is the nonconsensual pvp. Though I'm mainly an indy player, in the years I've played this game I've gotten an adrenaline rush a number of times. Not just the "Yay, this is a fun roller coaster ride" kind of rush, but the "Holy crap, I’m doing 120 mph and that Cobra is gaining on me. WHERE THE HELL DID THAT TRUCK COME FROM, OH FUC…..” You know, those times when you can literally hear your heart pounding inside your chest and feel your blood course through your fingertips.

This has never happened in all the years of playing other games as far as I can remember. Taking that valued cargo thru nullsec, not knowing if a hostile will show up and ruin your many many hours of tedious work in an instant. Even with cloaky blockade runners, you always run the chance of catching that RSB’d Inty just waiting there, with all his buddies ready to pounce. I love it and have not found an equivalent elsewhere (okay, maybe sex, drugs and fast cars, but EVE is cheaper and safer). It lets me relive the excitement of my youth without actually doing all the stupid crap that almost got me killed, hehe.

I have yet to see that. A Vindicator? Not my cup of tea.
I fly around low/0.0 either in a Catalyst or a Thorax, nothing I cannot afford to lose. Sometimes I use a Myrm.
The less "sophisticated" the ship, the greater the challenge.
