So after a long absence of this game i gave it another shot..
Have been travelling on several other market hubs but when i entered in Jita.. wow.

The scamming is absurd. Buying plex for 350mil, only to find out you'll also give a plex along with 350 mil... or buying 2plex for 1.2b only to find out he'll only pay1.2m

wtf?

I'm all into the player-run thing but i think this is over the top. I've read many scams in the past.. like ponzi schemes turned bad or corporation thievery. Those are classy. It takes effort.

But this? Pure absurd. There's no merit in this. People are deliberatly, in-your-face, taking advantage of a game mechanic in order to trick you into basically giving away your wealth, and more.

I'm all for regulating this type of activity. Just as you get flagged for killing people on secure areas, so should this behavior be criminalized. How to punish them? well.. just out of my head

Once a player gets flagged for promoting scams he should be flagged, and all his transactions would require manual verification. That should teach the pricks.

What, you can't take the time to look at a contract before accepting it?

Scammers take advantage of stupidity, greed & laziness, if you read the contracts carefully you have next to nil risk of getting scammed.

TL;DR Treat every contract as a scam and learn to read

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I answered your question.

It's a sandbox, I don't need some ever present big brother to tell me how I sell my stuff.

However, I'm not against setting up a "contract history" rating coming from buyers of contract...

eve is a regulated democracy where everything is fair and we all live happily ever after. everyone is honest, caring and loving.

Be as it may, this game is all about Good vs Evil.

What good is Good for if you can't fight Evil?
You get kill rights, you can play bounties, you have a security status. That's Good vs Evil well implemented.
But scaming? that's just basically not acknowledging the evilness in the act.

No not really. You'll find the "Good guys" in this game are just as big a pack of arseholes as the badguys. So what you have is more of evil versus slightly more benign evil.

Cthulhu, why settle for a lesser evil?

So you're agreeing with what i said only except you'd not name good but rather evil and benign evil. My point still stands.
Actions > consequences.

I used to be more sympathetic toward scamming victims. But after seeing how scammers have to work for their isk ....just as any others in eve and chatting with many of them in Amarr local(i live there not Jita) ....and since it is a part of the game design......I am in full support of scammers and what they do.

You sir need to accept it or go play another game.

Just like the Human Centipad with contracts, YOU DIDN'T READ IT!

Using a weapon as a deterrent in a diplomatic situation is only viable when you have proven that you have deployed it in the past and are willing to use it in the future.

Remember, this sort of scam fails 100% of the time when you take 5 seconds to read the contract.

Caveat emptor.
