So I ask this question more so out of curiosity then anything.

Have any of you been affected by events in real life from your eve addiction?

Such as wife leaving you etc, losing your job from taking to much time off work to play eve?

Weekends are now spent indoors playing eve etc.

No.

Some of us have a thing called self control.

I only play Eve when I have time, and having a full time job and family and social commitments it's usually not as much time as I'd like.

I put real life first, although I might put things off because I'm playing a computer game (which might sometimes be Eve)

I guess if I didn't play MMOs I'd have more time for other stuff like house and garden jobs.

Affected? EVE, so far and that I am aware of, is the only MMO that let me have a active social life where my character progress when I am not around.

Other MMOs would punish me if I didn't log in for a week. EVE doesn't do that.

My wife and I have an understanding.

I pay the bills > I get to do what I want.

She makes the food > When she tells me to jump I ask how high.

Well my gf really used to hate eve, and after 8 years or so of playing, im starting to understand why she's been this pissedOops
(what can i say, im a slow learner).

At least these days i dont log in a lot, wich leads to the question really. Why the heck do i have a active sub still What?

GM Guard > I must ask you not to use the petition option like this again but i personally would finish the chicken sandwich first so it won´t go to waste. The spaghetti will keep and you can use it the next time you get hungry. Best regards.

Full job, a side business (which actually nets me far more money than my job), two children, mortgage and a crapton of friends that I'm forced to interact with by my wife.

So no, I don't have any EvE addiction problems. Hell, I WANT an EvE online addiction problem. But life keeps getting in the way.

If I get to play an hour every other day, I'm happy. And that hour (or half an hour) is deducted straight from sleeping time.

I ENVY guys who can stay online for 6 hours and get yelled and called names.

No.

But if I ever did lose my spouse, house, job or dog, I know I can always play a country song backwards and get it all back again.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Before and after EVE my wallet always said 0...but before eve sometimes it had a - sign in front of it. Now I know the name of the game is lost in space, and you don't wanna be lost in space without your spreadsheets.

No. I never had a life to begin with ha ha ha!Big smile

On a serious note, the worst thing that might have happened is being late for work after going to bed way to late. That's not an EvE-specific problem however, the same might happen with any other game. The only thing it DOES damage is my time spent on other games (haven't touched my Xbox in a month).

She's pretty cool with me playing, though in my defence, I 'work' at home so I'm pretty much hers in the evenings to do with what she will... which usually means repairs and child herding / training / sand blasting.

There are some events in real life that I have by passed in order to play EVE, but you have to know where the line is. Not wanting to go to some lame movie is not a big deal, but missing a family event like a birthday or wedding or something may not go over very well.

Also, when I was dating my now ex-girlfriend, my headset was a welcome escape sometimes. P

FC, what do?

I have a girlfriend who wants me to make my demand with an expansive ring, a child to be born with no room in my appartment, a work I don't like anymore, and a lot of bills to pay.

THANKS GOD I'M ADDICTED TO EVE ! Otherwise, my life would be soooo boring.

Oh wait.

I blabber to my girlfriend about how wormholes work and what not and she just smiles and nods and puts her head back in her kindle. She thinks I'm talking to her when I'm talking to my corp mates lol, makes for interesting conversations about how my choices of "ganking that noob" is ethical.

All in all, Eve is a great hobby for me and my GF would much rather me be a nerd than at the bars all night with my buds. I prefer the relaxed nerd lifestyle now that I'm out of college and work full time.

Aspects of this game (especially the interminable periods of inactivity) enhanced my clinical depression.

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.
