Time to buff Titans?

As I'm watching the ongoing grind in nullsec and the impact of numbers on the Sov game (not the individual battles) I wonder if people think CCP will revisit the Titan issue. It seems that as soon as the Titan tracking nerf went through the counter argument for keeping them able to act as a guard against blobs became valid. Has the numbers game reached a tipping point, especially with more and more veteran players jumping onto the winning side? Do people think the Titan should be buffed?

Noone except Titan owners wants Titans buffed. And they're not a majority.

Yes!

Titans used to dominate the battlefield and were a source of awe for new players. Now they're mobile bridges. The fact is, a dreadnought today is equivalent to a titan in combat, yet the titan costs 50x as much. I would like to see CCP give titans new roles (doesn't have to be combat roles) to make them worth 100b.

No, just make it a Tier 2 Dreadnought and be done with it.

Okay, fit me a dreadnought with ~40m ehp.

If one had the players to fly them, it's probably about equal on the EHP/ISK front to field a whole ton of dreadnaughts for the cost of the titan. Plus there'd be a ton more damage output.

Of course the problem becomes how to convince 50 pilots to bring a dread to the fight instead of one pilot to bring a titan.

Titans still have the most OP and overwhelmingly awesome game mechanic currently available. Jump Bridging.

PL can sniff you out, take 7 jump bridges around the entire galaxy and wtfbbq you and then pull out like nothing ever happened.

As soon as someone gives me a titan, I'll be all for the buff.

I vote the next expansion buffs titans and gives every player an unique fully fit dockable titan. You know, like the Zephyr and the Primae except that they're well... titans.

It sure is. It could use a couple more whacks with the nerf bat.

No buffs for titans.

Give us T2 and Faction Titans instead.

Still waiting for the Sansha Titan. Just hope that CCP ingests a lot of fiber before releasing that one.

Oh, I don't know… what do you have?
Never mind, just take one of each for good measure.

Very funny :)

On a serious note however I am interested in what people think the actual counter to the numbers game in null is especially since the Titan's can no longer provide effective countering for small (though rich) alliances. Bombers and imaginative fleet doctrines make for good fights but seem to be ineffective in slowing the sov bleed to to the blob. Given how things are going and the toll that loss of "farmland" will have on the war effort of smaller alliances, will CFC and TEST make good on BOB's dream of one nullsec hegemony?

Titans were broken as hell before, they definitely do not need a buff.

I'd also like to point out that numbers win wars in real life too. Advanced weapons only magnify what an army can do, they don't win battles for you. You will never see 500 defeat 5000 if both sides are committed.

Oh, and FYI, the Spartans lost at Thermopylae.

I sure would like to know where you get these dreads with ten (or twenty) times the ehp, a one shot cap killer super weapon, the ability to be remote repped while doing dps, the ability to actually move or warp out while doing dps, far superior tracking, a massive gang boost ability, immunity to normal tackling, the ability to bridge fleets around in support of themselves, the ability to carry spare ships and fitting for fleet members, all for 2 bil!

the problem with titans and blobs is not the ships it's sov mechanics massive EHP grind encourages us to bring as mutch pilots as you can

once ccp finds a way to change that we will see less blobs

People whine about the CFC blob and demand a titan buff.

CFC continue to curbstomp with their massive titan fleet and the calls of blob don't end.
