Communication about upcoming features can be tricky and it is tricky for a number of reasons. We want to provide you with extremely accurate information based on realistic time frames and expectation and want to avoid promising something is coming 'soon' and that soon going on far too long.

Okay. Cool, no more vague promises.

I completely understand where you are coming from so ok.

You guys can expect to see an announcement coming, within the next week hopefully, which will cover the next two major patches. As can be seen in Torfi's blog, this will include the return of ship spinning, a new cyno effect and fixes and changes to flying in space.

There are more announcements and Dev Blogs to come about great features we are rolling out which are directly as a result of what you, the players, and the CSM have asked for.

Yes, I know you would like more meat on the bones and it will be coming over the next few weeks. In the mean time, we will keep up communication as often as possible.

Well that took you ~70 minutes to start vaguely promising "soon"

/facepalm.

I'd hardly call giving the fluff whiners back their fluff drastic. Ship spinning? Cyno effects? Yup, pretty radical stuff.
Long called for revision of hybrids. Long called for revision of nullsec. Actual communication. Focus of FiS.

Yes, pretty radical.

Out of which the only thing we know for sure is that ship spinning as we knew is returning, and a new cyno effect is coming.

Revision of hybrids? Who the hell knows what they'll do with hybrids.. might as well just completely nerf the other guns to be as sucky as hybrids.

Revision of nullsec? A tad bit vague don'tcha think....

Actual communication? With you, personally, maybe?!

Focus on FiS? Well, they never said they weren't focused in FiS to begin with, so to me saying that they will focus now might just mean that they will work harder and faster at nerfing it even more.

CCP listens, it is just there are a lot of really spoiled people who want CCP to OBEY.

Listening and Obeying are two different things.

Frankly I think this customer base is so childish and ill behaved they should close General Discussion and only allow constructive on topic posts in the topic specific forums.

~5000 Account Level Bans would improve this game vastly, the game gets better and better the longer you go without reading the forums.

Agreed. Nevertheless, far more FiS stuff than has been mentioned in a long while. And while they might not have said that they weren't focusing on FiS, the numbers they occasionally shown (to say nothing of what they actually did) delivered that message loudly enough.

We know they've shown us some screenshots with an ugly font.

They once showed us some screenshots for Incarna too.

How'd that work out.

One thing people need to realise here... and its a very important point......

CCP have reacted to the Incarna fiasco by instructing some of its employee's to be alot more active on the forum, perhaps even changing their full time job to purely read and reply to the forums too.

Behind the scenes, other than the fact we can see alot more pretty blue "Dev" markers on the forums.... nothing has changed.

Remember this.

My experience with CCP so far (3 ish years) is that they often hurt themselves by saying/promising stuff, that they later can't live up to. You guys should really look over your planning and "release announcements" IMO.

I personally could not care less what CCP says on these forums or in a new 'blog'. (which apparently they don't know the definition of a blog) The only reason there is so much action lately is they got some bad press. This new found communication is nothing more than damage control. CCP doesnt' care what people say it's what they 'do' right... so get to doing boys and leave the PR B.S. to your community reps and the CSM pawns.

All you need to do is download the eve online client and login :)

for more extensive proof, wait another 2 months, download the eve client, and login to find, surprise surprise, still nothing's changed.

but hey we get pretty blue tabs on the forums. If they change the GM's tag to green we may mistake this place as a christmas clothing store or something!
