Idea to have a counter to missiles

This is a rough idea, so bear with me on numbers, and names, and if you want to troll or flame just be aware I really couldn't care less about you.

Here is an idea i been thinking of to counter missiles sort of like TD with turrets.
The idea is to have a module that uses lots of cap, but reduces the sig radius of the ship using it by a huge percent, I am thinking in the 80% range.

Working name- spacial disruption field
Midslot, 50PG 35 CPU
Cycle time is 5 seconds, cap use 700?
reduced signature radius of the vessel by 80%

this would reduce the sig radius of a battleship(abaddon) from about 470 to 94, this is a massive downturn meaning this battleship now has the sig of a cruiser(omen).

the module will work even with MWD on, reducing the sig radius with MWD on, but with the cap use having both on would not last long.

the counter to the module would easily be neuts, this module will be cap intensive, another counter will be TP, which will raise the sig radius to make missiles hit harder.

in large fleets you turn the module on and all the drake missiles do less damage, in smaller fleets it will help tank a few volleys before being capped out

this module COULD work because you can see incoming missiles, reacting, and turning the module on.

Your aware that turrets also rely on sig radius? Its why blap dreads work so well against BS fleets...

Better solution: Make defender missiles useful.

true but once locked the rounds hit instantly. missiles have to fly to the target, which would be when to hit the button.
like I said though, needs work, Also don't think defender missiles will ever work, they are a waste of slot.

Just buff TD so it works on missile guidance systems as well, and either gives less than 100% percentage to hit, or decreases damage (by lowering the efficiency of proximity sensors).

Its anyway underpowered compared to ECM and SD. And Minmatar (racial enemy) will get some pure missile ships now, with tiericide.
