More precisely, the check was made out for $730,000.

Karen Kline was taunted and bullied by students on an upstate New York schoolbus -- whereupon a Canadian who saw the uploaded video started calling on fundraisers to give her a better day.

The plan succeeded beyond anything he expected.

Thousands of donors in 81 countries chipped in, donating over $500,000 in the first two days, and Ms. Kline is now retired and planning a cruise later this year. The students involved in the taunting have been suspended, given 50 hours of community service, suspended from school for a year, and are no longer allowed regular bus transport.

Every so often, justice does take her blindfold off.

I remember constantly having to go through stuff like that growing up, and as a result I still have issues with social interaction to this day. People don't realize what kind of longterm effects bullying has on a person, or maybe they do and they just don't care because people are like that. Back then I did what all the authority figures told me to do and just sat and took it like she did, but not a day goes by I don't regret not going to school one day with some brass knuckles and cleaning house. I hope she enjoys her vacation, she earned it.

Why why do we simply not beat these children more? Is creating **** heads universal or more prevalent in the US?

Actually this time it's the Canadian assholes that are to blame.

\We're so nice we apologize for things that haven't happened yet.

'Look out! That tree is about to fall!' 'Oh, I'm sorry about that....'

Moreover, we're one of the few cultures in the world that have three hundred different ways to apologize -- without ever actually using the words 'I'm sorry'.

It's a bigger problem than you think, because when someone does actually use the words "I'm sorry"; we're so shocked we don't believe them.
