An utter lack of motivation

Oh god. It's here. That time where I wonder "now what" in Eve and find myself not logging in for longer and longer periods of time. The game got monotonous and I can't figure out what to do.Account subscriptions are starting to lapse and I just can't bring myself to care enough to plex them again.

I've been a total carebear, a griefer, a mercenary, a can flipper, a pirate, an explorer. I've lived in wormholes as a nomad and again as part of a corp. I've ratted, mined, explored, and fought in high, low, and null. I've been a part of notable and notorious actions and had a substantial contribution to several events that have become a part of the history of Eve. Last time this happened, I joined The Skunkworks and completely reversed my character's role in the game. Now I'm just not finding any compelling reasons to keep playing the game. I find a better sandbox in Minecraft than exists in Eve. And yet, part of me wants to stay with Eve. I want it to be the rush it used to be instead of feeling like a task that must be done.

So tell me, guys...what should I do next to make this game interesting again?

(no, you can't have my stuff if I go. I'll slip quietly into inactivity with an inventory full of PLEX to secure me again inflation and come back into the game at some later date when I have a reason to do so)

Start a crusade to remove Goonswarm and their pets from the game. It will be challenging, exciting, and benefit everyone. I believe in you. Go make me proud :)

I honestly would, if the people who want them gone actually had the guts to leave highsec and go after them. We'd lose in an epic ball of fire, but it would be fun.

Alas, most of the goon whiners are either goon alts or utter cowards.

No, not all of them, but I can't think of a bigger more exciting thing for anyone to do in EVE than take down the most known largest empire. Null sec wars used to be exciting and fun to read about... I would like that to return.

The ultimate challenge... Create a corp and convince an army of players to do your bidding. Can you be the one to dominate the galactic market? Can you be the one to defeat Goonswarm? Could you be the one who leads the most notorious group of bloodthirsty pirates that Eve has ever seen? Going solo is easy, following is easy, leading is a bit tougher but is the ultimate accomplishment in the game.

There has to be people in Null who are sick of them... just gotta rally them together. Even if it ended up as a failed attempt...at least it would be fun if nothing else.

Take down -a- instead.
They are large, and I'm sure most high-sec carebears/noobs could easily take care of them.

Meh. Being the top guy has never been my thing. I prefer having the ear of the guy in power. In the past two years I've developed some considerable influence in Eve. I much prefer being the guy behind the ideas than being the one who gets blamed for them Big smile

Regular answer: can I haz your stuff?

Real answer: Take a long break. By long I mean 6 to 12 months. I just came back from a 10-month break and I find that my love for the game is back and I had missed it a lot.

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.

Ah, welcome, welcome. Your OP marks your entry into a cherished and ancient establishment, the bitter vet club. Here is your access card, embroidered towel and slippers, and custom-fitted bathrobe.

You will soon settle into a life of keeping yourself subscribed with plex while amassing skillpoints, never undocking, and frequently complaining about Eve things on the forum.

Can I still join if I don't make enough ISK to pay with PLEX? :(

This is already being done. Northern Coalition., Nulli Secunda, IRC, Black Legion., Ev0ke, 401k and assorted other entities are all banded together and locked in a furious struggle with us right now. Why don't you join them?
