My Static is stuck

So I was just curious if anyone else has experienced this. I'm not sure if I should petition or just leave it (it is pretty handy).

So 2 days ago, I scanned down and activated our static about an hour before downtime. I know I activated it as the status was "this wormhole has not yet begun its natural cycle...." Bookmarked and noted time.

The next day, I logged in after downtime, about 2 hours past when the static should have expired. Normally, as we always BM our sigs, I start with my probes at 1AU and hit each existing bookmark just to get the new Sig ID's. And BAM I get a 100% hit on the static. So I warp to it and its still there. BUT, it is not EOL, but "beginning to decay...". I jump through and it is a new lowsec. So it is definitely a new WH, but in the EXACT location of the old static.

Ok, what are the odds? But hey, I've had 2 0.0 incoming k162's that originated from the same system, so I've seen improbable thing happen before.

Ok so now day 2. I get in this morning, and check sigs. Static is still there (sig CMQ), warp and EOL as expected. I check back a few hours later. Sig CMQ is still there, way past its lifetime. Warp to it. Once again, new lowsec, and back to "beginning to decay"

So the static keeps cycling every 24 hours, but is keeping the same sig and location each time. Certainly makes scanning easier.

Understanding that it is easy..........however if it's easy for you then it's easy for anyone else in the hole.

Personally I'd report it. You expect to scan a new hole each day.......

The other problem you might have is if you go out how do you know when to come back?

True, it does bother me overall, and I don't mind scanning. If I have time I may try collapsing it and see what happens. Would be pretty wild if it poofed away, and then seconds later shows back up. Or maybe a collapse would break the cycle.

The way the mechanics work, for some reason if your hole will expire during downtime the hole will pop up in the same place. Easiest way to ensure it'll pop up elsewhere is to manually cycle it to ensure it doesn't despawn mid DT.

it's a bug, happens a bit in c1-3 holes.

Good to know. I suspected it may be due to the proximity to DT. I guess when everyone is bored enough we can try rolling the static.

What Bernie said. If you roll it the problem should be resolved.

It happened to me last month. Bussines as usual I guess.

Bob Artis, you will be missed.

Seems to happen 9 times out of 10 if the first person who loads the system after downtime warps to the previous static bookmark soon afterwards and the previous static expired around about downtime - don't think it has to happen exactly during downtime but not sure on that.

Its um normal abnormal behavior lol.

I was gonna roll it today, but it got itself unstuck.

We had this often when downtime was still an hour long sometimes. Now that downtime is usually less than 20 minutes it is very rare.
