Two servers?

Like most enlightened, contemporary gamers, I would switch over without hesitation if the new server ensured the absence of non-consensual pvp.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

Sorry, I should have been clear: it's a hypothetical question.

d) Irrelevant hypothetical question

So you have no answer relevant.

Why?

So what you're saying is you think that the current Eve economy won't work with Dust 514 and that both games need to start from 0 and grow together, right?

Too bad.

Your rules really only give one choice - move to the new server. The old one will stagnate and die, or be full of bittervets, since new accounts must all be on the new.

Moving everyone to the new server without any assets would likely lose hundreds of subs - all from the people who keep playing the game since they have so much time invested and have acquired a lot of assets. Taking all that achievement away is *not* how MMOs stay in business.

Your hypothetical question is a bad one.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Moving to the new server would mean I couldn't live in a high end wormhole anymore, while staying in the old one would mean that the game would start dying fast. Neither is appealing at all which means I'd be unsubbing. I've seen enough of known space to know I don't want the boring isk grind there ever again.

I have a rhetorical question. How dumb is this thread?

Amusing how many people spend the time to whine and complain about a thread instead of just answering his question.

OT: I'd probably be done EVE if that happened.

Whatif that wasn't an option, and you had to decide?

Nope. Liquidated, unsubbed, uninstall, delete EVE folder, buy a horse.

This is not a proposal, this is not an idea, this is a question.

If CCP give you the choice of staying on this server (I know it's really a cluster, but bear with me) or going to a new server, which would you pick?

Framework for deciding would be this:

Its a one way ticket for your character. once you go, you're gone.
CCP would equally add content to each server, like purdy gfx.
There would be no connection with DUST on existing server.
No transference of wealth/stuff.
If you want to come back, you can't, and no new subs will be added.
No comms between the two.
All new subs will be on the new server.

Answer (a) stay or (b) go

Please indicate how you've been playing as well.

Thank you.

I'd just be happy playing on a server that doesn't die when 400 people are in a system. I think TIDI has just become another name for lazyness.

I'd enjoy a chance at starting on even ground with everyone else. Won't happen so it's irrelevant, but it would be entertaining.

Um... If no new accounts can be created on the old server, that is a death sentence for the old server. Eventually people will leave. With no incoming subs to counter, the server population will to the point of being unsubstainable with a player driven market. Basically, you are not giving people a real choice. You are asking, stay on a dying server where it will eventually be just you or move to a functioning server. Seems like a useless loaded question, so why bother with an answer?

How about a scenario that doesn't lead to the death of one server?

This. Very much this.

The only people who would stay on the old-server would be ISK-rich, and no isk-poor PLEX buyers would stay. The entire stored PLEX supply would be gone in months and everyone would be forced to move.

I'd enjoy playing EVE from scratch, seeing alliances etc form for the first time, but it's unrealistic.

I would go out to the new server, of virtue of a fresh start and not having the old alliances that control eve influence everything.

Can't wait untill when Eve online is Freemium. WiS only 10$, SP booster for one month 15$, DPS Boost 2$, EHP Boost 2$ Real money trading hub! Cosmeitic ship skins 15$ --> If you don't pay **for a product, you ARE the **product.

So you have no answer relevant.

Why?

It's an implausible scenario that shows no benefits to CCP, nor the player base...

We either don't transfer... and the current server dies off as people unsubscribe and no new subscriptions are allowed.... and for some reason this is coupled with DUST....

or

We transfer, lose all our wealth (but keep our sp for some reason), but have long term potential as long as we get enough people to transfer to make the server function... and as long as CCP's new changes encourage new players... and for soem reason this is uncoupled from DUST....

This question is just BAD.... and incoherent.... and hence irrelevant and a waste of time to think about....

(c) unsub

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.
