A voluntary status button would be nice. But god no you don't get a cloaking device on every ship in the game because you typed /afk

Few things. You cannot go afk unless you are docked in a station. EVE is a harsh mistress and you shouldn't be able to press what would be the "pause" button. This would still facilitate afk cloakers, which is a viable tactic used by almost everyone so hold back the tears. You wanna press pause in EVE? Hit "esc" then press the button that says logout.

But maybe a "busy" or "fighting with children/spouse/girlfriend/family" button would be nice.

No, as to making your ship undecloakable.......... etc.

Yes, to chat windows and pm's as players will know you're afk and won't waste time trying to talking to you.

So how are you running for CSM if you are and i quote "recently moved to EVE from World of Warcraft"?

You seem like a polite individual and so i won't chomp you do death but i will say this:

It takes years and years to understand eve in all it's facets, and although i'm unaware of the exact amount of time you've been playing eve its safe to say that its niave of you to think you'll get into the CSM without understanding eve.

I see that your character your posting with is 1 year old. This is old enough to know "some" of the game, but not nearly knowledgeable enough to represent the entire EVE player base.

Kudos to you for being bold enough to post, and i like the /afk minus the undecloakable, and unattackable aspect as that would ruin pvp forever. ( /afk, /afk DD, /afk for example as someone else has said before.)

Explore and thoroughly review you ideas before posting and you will avoid silly mistakes like that in the future.

I can just imagine a fleet of over 100 people all cloaked by afk and waiting for the right moment to "afk back" poof 100 ships decloaks lol xD

Sure. Should also close all your windows, viewscreen, local chat players list and leave only your corp/alliance/subcsription channels open. And warp your ship to a safespot.
