*** UPDATE *** Voting is now closed, and Elonaya has prevailed 4,859 votes to 1,438. More information may be found in the blog post found here.

OVERVIEW

I am a professional bumper and the Father of the New Order. I was elected Supreme Protector of Halaima, Kamio, Kino, and Uotila--highsec ice mining systems near Jita. I require miners to follow the New Halaima Code of Conduct, which--among other things--calls for a 10 million isk mining fee to be paid each year. If miners fail to pay, they risk being bumped out of range and losing their ability to mine. Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, have some links via another link!

GREAT SUCCESS

It has been about a month since our last Shareholder Report. In that time, much has happened. Luckily, I have kept you apprised of everything--to the best of my ability--by making use of our blog at MinerBumping.com.

The blog has been a huge hit with the people of EVE. In less than a month, we have built a base of readers that is envied by EVE blogging personalities who spent years building their reputations and connections. Over the last several days, MinerBumping has gotten consistently more than a thousand hits per day. This puts us into the upper echelon of EVE blogs: If the EVE blogosphere were television, MinerBumping would be the equivalent of one of the major networks. Clearly there is much interest in the New Order, the New Halaima Code of Conduct, and the art of bumping miners in highsec!

Consider: About two and a half months ago, the New Order consisted of one man bravely bumping miners in the Halaima ice field. Today, we're practically mainstream. This is quite an achievement. Imagine what we can accomplish in the future!

THE NEXT EXPANSION

Shareholder Report #4 came alongside a shareholder vote on the future of our expansion throughout highsec. Shareholders voted to take the system of Kino next, followed by Uotila; Sirseshin and Niarja were put on the back-burner. As it happened, the annexation of Kino and Uotila into New Order territory proved very successful--and profitable.

Meanwhile, the popularity of the MinerBumping blog spread the wisdom of the New Order far and wide. The people of highsec were hungry for our message. New bumpers started coming out of the woodwork. New bumpers flock to New Order territories, and I also received reports from bumpers operating as far away as Gallente and Amarr highsec.

The time has come, once again, to expand New Order territory. As always, our expansion does not imply the abandonment of previously-disciplined systems. Halaima, Kamio, Kino, and Uotila will continue to receive the blessings of New Order membership. But this vote will determine our next course.

There are two potential paths forward: Sirseshin and Elonaya. Please see the following planning map.

Shareholder Report #5 Plan Map

The map was cobbled together from the Dotlan maps of The Citadel, The Forge, and Lonetrek. With the acquisition of Halaima, Kamio, and Uotila, the New Order currently holds all of the ice systems of The Citadel. Kino is our foothold into Lonetrek. Our official territories do not currently extend into any other regions.

Elonaya is an ice-mining system in the Lonetrek region. It is 4 jumps from Kino, but due to a short-cut is 6 jumps from Halaima, rather than 8 (Kino is 4 from Halaima). Elonaya would be considered a highly-populated system, perhaps on the order of a Kamio or Kino.

Sirseshin is an ice-mining system in The Forge region, at the heart of highsec. It is 4 jumps away from our capital, Halaima. It is roughly the size of Uotila, which is to say it is less-populated than Halaima.

Both Lonetrek and The Forge are host to several active ice mining systems, so either one would be a stepping-stone toward additional expansion.

VOTING PROCESS

Each share represents one vote; someone with 10 shares will have a voting power of 10. I have drafted a list of the current shareholders and how many shares they currently hold. People can continue to buy shares, but it will not affect their voting power during this vote. People can vote either by replying in this thread, or by sending me an EVEmail. Those who do not own shares will not be able to vote, but will be able to void their opinions in this thread as well.

The voting period will last approximately 48 hours from the time of this posting; shareholders may wish to engage in some discussion first, before voting, but are not required to do so. Votes will be tallied at the end of the period, so voters are free to change their minds beforehand. Shareholders are being notified of this vote by EVEmail.

PLEASE SELECT A TARGET FOR LIBERATION:

- Elonaya
- Sirseshin

If you do not wish to vote, you may ABSTAIN.

In the interests of bringing the Code to as many deserving miners as humanly possible, all 30 of my votes go towards Elonaya.

E: Also, James 315, are shares still available for purchase? I would like reserve an additional 70 to be purchased tonight, your endeavor being one of the best things to spend my space-cash on.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

I agree with this logic. 50 shares for Elonaya. 1 symbolic share for Sirseshin to let them know they are not being neglected.

Yup, still for sale until further notice. I'll add your reserve order to the IPO thread. Cool

James, is this the right place to comment on progress so far?

I'm a little concerned about the speed of expansion, specifically with regards to Kino. Based on your reports, Kino remains dangerously anti-Code and the people there seem to be tragically uncivilized. How will you balance their needs with those of your new charges?

Sure thing.

I always say that the miner bumping business is a marathon, not a sprint. It's not practical to expect total docility out of the miners of any particular system before moving on to the next one. Even if we attempted to do this, after we move to another system, new miners will inhabit the old one, and we would have to return later anyway. I also find that after a certain point, the miners get "punch-drunk" and less receptive to New Order influence. If they are left alone for awhile, and then we return, that seems to have a greater impact, as it shakes them out of their patterns again.

My preferred method is to make an impact, go somewhere else for awhile, return, go somewhere else, and so on. When the miners cannot predict what is going to happen, they begin to understand that things are out of their control, and they become more open to joining the New Order.

I also think it's important to always be expanding to at least some degree, though the speed will vary. We want to introduce the New Order to new areas and new miners (plus recapturing miners who fled for other systems). Whenever the New Order hits a new system, we get new recruits among those who weren't familiar with us before, which is always nice. Smile
