station trader: client slowdown and tax/standings question

This character is a station trading alt. After several hours of having her active while missioning on other pilots, the application starts to slow down. I found a discussion thread that talks about deleting cache files with "macho" something or other in the name. Does anybody have direct knowledge of such an approach for WIndows 7? For now, I am just deleting cache files and restarting client daily.

Also, I hope to raise her standings by fleeting her for missions. I have read conflicting threads about what social skills would help gain standings for lower trading taxes. Will social/connections or any other skill help here?

Social helps the rate of gain afaik.

Client slowdown is caused by an inherent memory leak which this game was designed around, in other words after several weeks your going to see some pretty bad market lag.

Training social skills will help you gain standing faster, chose wisely which ones you will train, but I recommend you hop into a drake or something 3M sp training ish, and do some COSMOS and I hear Faction warfare does something for standing to, otherwise indeed, you have a sound plan you can always relly on, running missions on one charachter and merchant in fleet as the other charachter sharing standing.

I recommend Rattlesnake for kind of semi AFK slow grinding or Machariel/Vargur/Paladin/Nightmare.

While you blitz missions dont forget to max out those tax lowering skills as somewhere near top priority, because once you hit 1 trillion buys and sales total ISK movement, .01 of a % really adds up to ALLOT.
