DYNAMIC Damage systems! AND NEW GRAPHICS!

CCP has always strived for excellency in *cough their products!
Balancing ships when necessary , polishing the graphics when time permits
MISSILE BOOM BOOM!
Turrets whoosh whoosh!
Drones SQUISH SQUISH!



Now , how about doing something about the damage graphics.











Besides from the graphics , how about a compartmentalized damage system?


Once you got through the shield and armor , you can specified WHICH part of the ship you want to shoot at.

You can shoot at their bridge to cripple them , killing the crew with minimal damage to the actual hardware.
You can shoot their turrets and drone bays to disarm it completely!

Or you could just go dull and boring and shoot at their hull aimlessly.

If you can't visualize it ,

That shouldn't be too hard to implement , since games as old as Silent Hunter 1 has such systems .... and they are modded by a bunch of 40 years hippie sitting on their asses with a cigar in one hand and Jack Daniels on the other

Since we dont have a way to take a ship over unless the pilot ejects and goes away, whats the point of shooting different parts?
You can scram/web to pin them down, or ECM/damp to affect weapons. Unless game mechanic changes drastically, it would just be eye candy.

Shield and armor hit effects would be nice, i really hope CCP installs Homeworld 2 and takes some notes, like damage on the ship, ship hull sounds when its going down with inside explosions (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7eCCWTpIKU 0:25 sec to 0:35 sec), not just a flare and a fart in space.
They did show some plans for it but ETA is years probably.

Won a G510 keyboard in AT-X on  21.07.2012. Still not delivered, CCP keeps quiet. Customer support needs a raise.

For the first point
From time to time we get the heroic "I am going down with my ship" sort of captain , and with that system , we won't have , cos we can kill the bridge and fly it back to station with all the crew onboard dead.

If a bunch of self taught modders on the Internet that haven't used a computer until they are like 38, how hard can it be for a bunch of u-grats with degrees SPECIALIZED in doing that?

Well, we never go down with our ship, pod ejects by itself :) Getting podded is considered a instant-trip to station (minus the implants).

It was on the last fanfest, they showed hull damage on the Rokh, and decks inside visible without outer hull, micro-explosions tearing a Leviathan apart and shield and armor/hull dmg on a Hurricane (slides only).
Patch notes are in distant future, from few years to "Soon".

Some good people will probably link you a clip, kinda hard to search and browse over the phone, i got really lucky with HW2 clip :)
