Can the clone vat bay be deactivate mid cycle and/or you dock up?

I seem to remember you could do something like this without getting stuck for the full cycle time a while ago, but this was before they reduced cycle times on siege units so things may have changed.

Just dock up.

Must be like 6 or 7 month or so since my alt created someone a clone in his rorq though.
