Hulks are ganked the most because they're the ones that cost the most to build. It's not hard to see how dead hulks = profit for hulk builders.

They're also ganked because idiots refuse to put any tank on them even now since the ore hold introduction. They're the softest of the 3 type but you can still put at least a little tank on the damn things.

The other reason is precisely because of threads like this Roll

I suspect a price rise in the Skiff, cause everyone is scared to fly in the other type of barges ;)
Which is exactly what the Skiff is used for.

But to change the types of the other barges would make the defensive barges even more useless.

Anyway, it already exists. Just fit one of these on your Hulk and activate it when the meanies warp in, and they will not be able to blow your Hulk up. Simple.

As for the defense module, nahhhhhh. It's tanky enough, just fit the proper modules and rigs. You won't be invincible, hell, not a single ship is invincible, but you'll have more of a fighting chance than you'll know.

I mine sometimes and I'm not about to go out into EvE space without some semblance of defense in a ship with a 200+m pricetag. Just use d-scan, watch local, fit your ship properly, and quite honestly, everyone is born with a brain, it's up to you to use it for thinking about what you can do to save your ship. =)
