Hey! Same justification the botters use. Very nice to see miners reduced to that. Blink

I afk mine ice while I play my pvp toon. I will continue to do so untill it is deemed by ccp to be against the url. Nothing you can do to stop me. Have a nice day.

Against the URL? Not sure how mining has anything to do with a Uniform Resource Locator...but ok.

Oh my deepest apologies, some of the other MMO's I play reffer to it as url....here I should have used Eula.... I hope EVE doesnt break because I used a different term.

It very well may.

Indeed, yet some nerds claim minerals are cheap and getting cheaper, what a bunch of perfect idiots.
Many of those should stop trading/taking coke and start mining or doing something else.

Number of bots in game is for sure at the lowest level this game as ever seen (CCP Shreegs props to you dude)

Drones alloys have been taken away from the game

Mission wrecks drop loot as been completely nerf at the point 2 years ago a lvl4 could poop 4k M3+mods and same now you're happy when you get 1K, no more T1 mods too.

Yet, idiots being idiots, still cry moan and bïtch like little girls about mining, afk mining, yadayada...Stupid will always be stupid.

Everyone is so butthurt over the new mining barge buffs, but I don't understand why. Encouraging mining by making it easier and safer will only have more people generating minerals which will overall make the price of everything go down. So theoretically if e have 3 in 10 miners getting ganked before the change (theoretical numbers) and after the change we have 1 in 10 miners being succesfully ganked, we get 2 more loads of minerals than before the patch. More minerals=minerals become cheaper=it becomes cheaper to make ships and mods=pewing is now cheaper.
An anyway, if they afk mine all day why do we care if they have a money faucet? It's not a mining carebear would DO anything with said isk.

TL;DR = More miners make pewing cheaper.

If you play the market in Eve much, which I can tell you don't, speculation is the #1 cause of mineral price fluctuation.

The issue is, mining can not be lumped into a single issue. Mining has several categories, you have:

1. Botting and AFK mining which is against the game rules and is generally a bad thing as the money made from a lot of this is sold by third parties. It also reduces the price for minerals since they flood the market which takes away from the profits of miners who follow the rules and do the right thing. A buff for these guys sucks.

2. Real miners who mine actively, follow the rules and yet are lumped into the "you suck since you mine and dont pvp so you must also be a bot" mentality. They are just people who favor a different playstyle. Imagine the new player who just got into his first retriever or the group of guys who mine together while discussing politics and RL issues. For this group the buff was a nice thing.

3. Smack-talking dorks who suck at pvp and generally most aspects of Eve. They need to mine to get a new ship and mods that they lost by screwing up a can-flipping and getting concorded. They stay in an NPC corp so you can not war dec them when they act like an idiot. The kind of guy it was a pleasure to gank. A buff for these guys sucks.

In the end it is all a matter of perspective. For some the buff was good and for others, it sucks.

FYI AFK mining ISNOT against the rules. Botting is against the rules bc it uses a third party program. I can set my miner up go afk do laundry go grab food/drink/bio or come here and check the forums or play my second toon, This in not against the rules. If it were I would have been long gone and banned.

I would just like to thank you sir for removing any doubt.

I dont know what is funnier, the fact that a guy named HollySomething 2inthestick thinks he is brilliant for quoting Mark Twain or the fact that it took you three minutes to have a second thought and come back and post again.

While I agree AFKing is not against the rules and was a faux pas on my part, I noticed you had no comment on the other 95% of the post. I imagine that means you agree with it. Glad we could see eye to eye.

No sorry I did not. You know what they say about assumptions. In my eagerness to jump on the AFK thing I didnt really take in the rest of the post until later.

I felt like the whole post was not well thought out. You make assumptions and use words like real miners and lump people that afk mine into a poor pvp group.

You have no clue who these people are and no clue what level or how well they pvp. Maybe its more a maturity thing, but I dont know either. Hence the Mark Twain quote.

As far as being brilliant, very far from it, Wise would be more accurate. Lol

AFK mining is not even close to against the rules.

Minerals and ore are getting cheaper, but the players at the top who are rich keep buying them over and sell at average price.

To do this for 100.000 ores it's a small profit. To do it with 100.000.000.000 ores, you'll just make a couple of millions in a few mouse clicks.
