Edit: figured it out...AFK Mining the cycle will repeat automatically, meaning they can sit at a large roid and just let it cycle until they fill up their hold. Here the act of mining is being done AFK.


If they sit with an indy with a single mining laser ... don't worry the "AFK" profit is negligible, if they sit in a barge, well an un-boosted miner will chew through a roid in in 9-15 min(3-5 cyles) that is afk enough to take an unhurried crap.

I wonder if nullers when they spend 4 hours fleeting up how many actually sit at keyboard ....

That would be nice if anyone was fighting. Null sec needs people to actually have some nice big wars then maybe they would appreciate the cheaper ships...but since everyone is just blue with each other...not gonna happen. So they all just spend their time in high sec worrying about how to mess with miners.

Against the URL? Not sure how mining has anything to do with a Uniform Resource Locator...but ok.

The only people who are really upset at the mining barge changes are the gankers because A) they lost their e-stroke material and B) they lost their isk faucet meaning that they now have to go do something that takes effort to make isk.

Actually, the mining barge changes have had a negative impact for those of us who did ATK mining. The market has fallen apart (especially for ice) so it is much less profitable for those of us who don't bot. I never lost a ship to gankers because I paid attention so really, the barge buffs didn't affect my survival rates but has affected my profit levels quite a bit (so much so that I've gone back to running level 4s).

I actually enjoy mining (sick I know) but there's just not a ton of isk in it right now for those of us who don't AFK/Bot.

I don't know about the nullsec folks, but when we fleet up, if we are AFK, we are in station or guarded by our corp mates. The issue is not with just being AFK; you want to sit in space and not be watching, that is your choice. However, when you gain competitive advantage through not playing (AFK ISK generation, for an activity that is intended to be "played"), that is wrong IMO.

Gankers are pissed off because the easy mode is off & now they have to coodinate with each other ifthey want to do cheap ganks with catalysts it'll now 2-3 of them instead of a single solo ganking. So no more solo ganks unless they spend real ISK on BCs

You can still be ganked pretty cheaply by 2-3 catalysts I expect the gankers to now have to do more planning & 2-3 months in the future we'll be seeing lots of AFK ice mining MACs go poof then peeps will switch to retrievers whose losses area lot cheaper since they are 10+ times cheaper.

the afk point is where you fall asleep when mining. Happens to offen for me..... :(
