Phobos/Proteus Maze solo tank

Hi,

I'm trying to find a setup that lets me dualbox the maze without relying on logistics or any sort of exterior support on the tanking ship itself. The two candidates I looked at were the Phobos and the Proteus. The tanking character does not fly a Tengu so that's out of the question.

All they have to do is tank, altho any bit of damage is obviously welcome. The Phobos hardly does any, and the Proteus (set up nulli/cov ops) does around 100 dps up close because I can't use drones on it =/

So playing around like an EFT warrior I got two similar fits for both ships, but I'm not sure its enough to tank the damage on its own.

Can someone that has actually run the maze confirm whether or not the following stats will do:

Resists: 90.2% EM, 86.8% Therm, 93.4% Kin, 10% Expl

EHP vs EM: 124 854 with 997 EFT defence rep
EHP vs Guri: 173 847 with 1300 EFT defence rep

Both setups cap stable obviously, Phobos going slightly faster with AB.

Both setups give me similar figures with the Phobos falling slightly behind, altho its cheaper. However it does lack survivability and seeing as I'm splashing ISK on it I'm leaning towards the Proteus which could also scout in a pinch.

Please don't tell me to "run it with friends", friends aren't always online when you find a maze and I want to be prepared!

Thanks in advance.

I wish I had eft handy. There is a proteus engineering subsystem that lets you use drones, but I guess that gimps your perma tank?

Anyways, go with the Pro (that rhymes too, epic), cloaky/nullified tank T3s arne't just good for scouting and tanking, it's a nice place to put your loot to get it back to where you came from. As long as your dps ship has drones for the 1st 4 rooms and some way to survive in the 5th room (tank or cloak for the station spawns), those stats on the pro look ok to me.

But for real, Train Tengu, nothing better for tanking the maze.

If you want to run a tengu that is all well and great but there is a big issue with it. You have to know exactly what you are doing i have seen 6 bil isk tengus go pop in three volleys. the resists are okay but the main thing you need to be able to take is the alpha of the torpedo... speed wotn help because you will be webbed, even an ab you wont break 100 m/s so my advice.. duel med faction rep proteus and spend some money on it.. train drones and a good dps bs with 4 drones from a proteus will make your way threw it easy..

Trust me the tengu is very hard to run it in!

Re: subsystem for dones..

I looked at it and there's two that can give drone bandwith, one gimping the cap recharge completely and the other takes away the covert ops bit. Seeing as I'm going with deadspace stuff on it, I think I prefer to give up a bit of DPS and keep the thing alive. Thanks for the tip tho. Also, from the tanking stats do you reckon it'll hold?

Re: dual rep Proteus..

Maybe I'm fitting it wrong but with similar priced stuff I get:

EHP vs EM: 146 387 with 1276 EFT defence rep
EHP vs Guri: 146 387 with 1142 EFT defence rep

In other words I'm giving up Guri EHP and repping for EM EHP and repping.

Which one is the better one to have? Does the majority of the sustained DPS come from the rats or the torp?

Have you considered finding that 10/10 gurista site on Singularity and testing fits on there?

You keep saying this, but you simply don't know what you are talking about.

I tried having a look on sisi but they don't seed faction/deadspace/officer mods on the market so.. it'd be hard to replicate =/

Is there any way to calculate what dmg the torpedo would do? I mean the resist is easy enough to calculate but what about the rest?
