The missile vs gun argument isn't so bad at the frigate level, missiles problems get more glaring at the battleship size of weaponry because torps and cruise are essentially useless against small targets because of the missile formula. however guns are able to bypass the 'drawbacks' of poor tracking on large guns by being really far away thus reducing transversal to almost 0 even on frigs.
