Can you also confirm that we will be able to filter out Dust players from local ?

Yes, it will be possible to filter out Dust players in the member list in chat channels.

Shame but I suppose to many players would complain their throats are slit. Its nice to watch dust players natter on in local.

Then lucky you, no need to use the filter then :)

For the rest of us who live in a hostile 0.0 environment, a bunch of random players based on a planet and no threat to us in space, would clutter up local unneccessarily.

And no, Dscan is not an option for this.

Were I live in TQ there is no local, will admit I think its rather stupid to have a free intel device that shows cloaked ships ect..that you can now filter out dusties as well. but

The Devs have spoken so its free intel for everyone....and most of you would scream like your throats were slit.

Strange how I was told to use d-scan a lot in 0.0 but you claim its not an option, oh well different playing styles.

Any spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors are because frankly, I don't care!!

Is it against the rules to pod people on the test server? If so, where do we report those who do? If not, I won't wine any more. Smile

Podding is fine. If you die by a gate or a station or outside the combat systems with out agreeing to combat then you post in the test server bad form thread to report the insident. If the evidance is conclusive you might get them banned from the test server.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

I get it. So, when in the combat systems podding is fine. Outside the combat systems, no agro at all without permission.

Thanks, I will warp away next time.

I'm not sure if posting this here is relevant or not but I never got my SP for the last mass test I was in. I've only ever done one mass test and it was the last one that happened, I believe, and yet I have no SP.

Also, on another topic, what happened to the availability of faction/deadspace modules in the market? As of the last mirror, not the current one, players utilizing the server could purchase said modules and ships like their T1/2 variants. Are there plans to put them back?

I can't comment on the masstest SP - that's Habakuk's domain. I can say however that there are no plans at this time to reseed faction and deadspace modules.

Thanks for the response! It's sad about the deadspace/faction stuff but it's whatever.

TL;DR version: ccp made the best decision removing faction/deadspace mods from sisi and choosing to keep local functioning much the same way it currently does by adding a option to filter out dust players. Oh, and a question about where to report bugs for dust.

Elaborated version:

I for one am plain THRILLED to see the faction/deadspace/god mods go, really effing tired of going to the combat systems to play with a new t2 combat fit I came up with or heard about that I could ACTUALLY USE ON TQ only to find nothing but idiots with god fits running around. Seriously, if you want the damn deadspace/god mods that badly, go get them from the complexes like you have to on TQ or buy them from jita using the billions of isk you just got selling implants in jita, or whatever other method you use to farm massive amounts of isk in sisi. Either way, buying them is not exactly impossible, you just have to work for it, or get them legitimately. Personally, I say GOOD RIDDANCE TO FACTION/DEADSPACE MODS!!! As for faction/navy ships, I do miss them and think they should've stayed, but if giving them up means I no longer have to deal with nothing but god fits whenever I decide to pvp with this or my other toon on sisi, then AWESOME!!!

(Tired of seeing complaints on this thread: where are the faction mods I can't build god ships anymore!!!)

As for the local, I also have a toon that lives in nullsec, and tbh eve has evolved to use local for intel to see how populated your current system is since....god was a child or something. The game has evolved to include that, with one of the major downsides to W-space being no local. For those who choose to live in w-space and think they are better than the rest of new eden for living without local channels, good for you, here's your cookie. The rest of use did NOT choose to live in wormhole space and have become quite used to how things work with local chat/etc. And anyone who lives in null/low for any period of time would know that d-scan only compliments local intel, not replaces it. You use it to look for anal probes when you're at a safe with neuts/reds in local or see what ships you can pick up in your limited scan range, that's about it (outside of some other minor uses, but that's the biggest). I am glad dusties can be filtered out of local, as it doesn't break the current game mechanics or tactics. Whine that it's free intel all you want, that's how the game was designed. Don't want local? go live in a wormhole then....that's what's great about this game, plenty of options to choose from. Pick one.

(just felt I had to respond to the local chat controversy, as it seemed this thread has already well degenerated from bug reporting as originally intended on page 1 to "here's what I think of dust and eve and blah blah blah, which really should be on another thread, but instead I'll just jump right on the bandwagon)

Overall, There's my two cents on things as they stand. I have noticed a couple bugs on sisi, but nothing you're unaware of or hasn't been fixed on tq, so I'll just wait for the next patch.....

And one final very relevant question: Where do we go to post bugs for DUST? I finally convinced my roommate to let me use his PS3 and finally was able to get on, and since I found a bug or two (which I won't post here due to the NDA) I need to know where to go to submit a bug report, or whatever the process is....

Using the PSN account info that is with a dust character, log into the forums.dust514.com and go to the Bug Report section.

MUST have a PSN account that has confirmed email for the beta, and have a dust character name to post under in the forums.

Hi

2 questions,

ive noticed on the logon screen that SiSi count is over 10x higher than usual recently, is this eve players experimenting with the dust interactions, or does that figure include Dust players also? if so, will that be the case when dust goes live on TQ and what are you expecting total numbers of dust + eve players to be @ server primetime : IE 1900-2200 Sunday ect...

secondly, will server downtimes/patches for Dust affect the TQ Client when it goes live as it does currently on SiSi?

thanks

Server numbers include dust players as they connect to the same server. The same will be said for TQ.

It would be nice if once dust hits TQ both the number of eve players and the number of dust players could be seen, as separate values.

CCP Habakuk and the rest of the Sisi team,

Important questions.

When can I start to shoot the DUST bunnies?

When can I start testing the new ship changes, frigs, dessies, whatever else they have coming?

Thanks

Great job on Dust 514, thank you for all the info please keep it coming. We know its a work in progress and most of us will await its full development patiently, do not stop the sharing of progression info based on a few rotten apples.
