I'm using Crossover but I thought I'd check the progress of wine-devel so I compiled it on my Fedora 17 (:* :*).

To my complete surprise, Captains Quarters *works* trololololol.

good job Wine devs :DDD

edit: accidentally pasted in passwords to Pentagon, had to remove.

Credits go to Piotr Caban, he implemented a lot of missing/stubbed stream I/O functions in the VC++ runtimes.

This will probably solve many problem which made it necessary for us Linux users to switch between builtin and native MSVCR libs in the launcher and the EVE client. I'll test the new wine version this evening and report what's working out of the box now using the builtin MSVCR libs.

are you running the bleeding-edge-git-version?

edit: i just noticed i need no dll-overrides anymore for the game to run.

1.5.11

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/wine/wine-1.5.11.tar.bz2

I didn't have any earlier versions installed. I also did not configure any
of this "builtin, native" stuff. They only thing I installed manually was the required DirectX thingy (dx9... something).

edit: just noticed your edit xD

hmm.. looks like we run the same version, yet my wine still crashes when i enter CQ. Maybe because i run the 64-bit-version.

ill do a compile with recent git-version in 32 bit..

edit: nope. no change.

i'll try a new wineprefix. maybe mine is ****** up.

it seems it's broken for me as well now. I'm terribly confused because it worked the moment I made this post :/

I should have made a screenshot >.> Maybe something changed after DT ????

;//

edit: NVMD, it is working again (seems to be random tho). I could normally be moving around the station without any crashes
when this screenshot was taken.

Strange.

I now have a cean wineprefix, only eve and d3dx9_42.dll installed.

I'll try a few times, but as of now it always crashes.

Error the same as before (crash in _gameworld)

what overrides are you running in winecfg? winetricks puts its stuff there if you use it.

That sucks. Seems it hasn't really been fixed :(
