Any time travelers around? I'd like to hear of the history of EVE... or the future from my standpoint. But you have been there, so tell us what it's like and any noteworthy events that took place between 2012 and 2032 from where you hail from. To hell with the temporal police, I gots a box of donuts to keep 'em busy if they shows up, glazed! Lol

I am sorry but we are not allowed to disclose that information to you.
It would cause paradoxes and problems that would break the space-time continuum.

It's true, apparently once upon a time next year someone went back in time and told everyone information that caused a run on plex three weeks prior which almost collapsed the Icelandic economy and the space-time continuum.... true story.

The encounter could create a time paradox, the result of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's worst-case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.

The tears of the many, outweigh the tears of the few. Or the one. enterprise-psi©

In 2032 EvE will be in 4 dimensions, you'll see directly with a brain connection over 1000000 terabyte connections.

The audio will be in Quadruple Dobly Surround.

Control will happen via hyper-sensory devices.

Yet you'll still have to train a monkey to mash the D-Scan button for you. Pirate

Wooow, so does that mean that we can bomb wow playerz from orbit? At this point, WoW is 3 million subs down the past year, maybe another year and CCP bought it, integrated it like Dust, got around to planetary bombardment, dead night elves everywhere!

What EVE ?

If you have in your hands the key to the fulfillment of your life's ambition and superiority over most, if you are aware that there is an absolute power on hand (just over the basic moral principles) how far are you willing to go and through what you are willing to tread?

Nope, they decided Dust Folks don't like being Bombarded. Instead the new Destroyers have 1 of 5 politically correct motivational cheers written by Hallmark that they can mail to ground players in a non intrusive way.

If you like Nightelfs then you will love the new character creator. Not so many dead ones since pods became undamageable and stations were weapons locked. Dance emotes though, you can humiliate them in dance offs if you bought good enough stat boosting dance shoes.

Darius III is huge. He had a near life/death experience in 2017, which led him to conquer all of null sec. Then he entered a CCP board meeting and challenged Hilmar to a CEO-off. He won with the best showing ever seen, and he is the entire staff of CCP. Right now as we speak, and why I traveled to this time, is because he is setting up an AI to hunt down all records of him being a loser and lazy as well as all the naked pics released in 2014 of him tweeting dirty pics to random females.

It is a hard time in the future.

I wish I could tell you but the temporal prime directive prevents me from doing so.

Sorry.

I can say one thing however, since it is not a clear violation, George Lucas will continue to **** star wars.

Sadly, it no longer exists.

Two years (from your perspective) Sony buy out CCP and move everyone to Japan, which gets destroyed by an asteroid.

Sorry.

Blame Hilmar, he wanted a new Lambo.

EVE subscriber numbers peaked just above 400k in 2014 and crossed the 150k mark by the end of the decade.
Several attempts to "revive" EVE with special promotions etc failed and after a marketing study (which concluded that a market for EVE-like MMOs does not exist) had put any discussions about EVE 2 to an early end, Sony sold the game to some European media group in early 2019.

The new operator ran the game in pure maintenance mode for another three years (subscriptions had stabilized at ~120k) before filing for bankruptcy (because of heavy losses in other business fields, most notably TV).
The court appointed interim administrator managed to save most of the enterprise with an aggressive restructuring program which EVE fell victim to.

The servers were shut down in May 2023, attempts by former players to acquire the EVE IP via crowd-funding failed on the resistance of Sony (IP ownership was still split between ex-CCP employees and Sony).

I'm sorry to tell you but in 2032 EVE has been dead for good for almost a decade and very few gamers remember that it ever existed.

(On the upside you just have to survive another 28 years before time travel becomes available and you can play any "classic" MMO at the height of its success - how cool is that?!)

I'm pretty sure we'd only need the first of those to happen to make sure EVE won't be around in 2032.

Sorry there is no eve. The cats have taken over and the humans that are left are forced to work the tuna mines for Emperor Tiddles. He's a harsh yet adorable ruler.
