isk sinks in game -> insurance that runs out, repair costs, skill books, job costs at npc stations, lp store deals requiring isk, sov bills, blue prints, a few remaining trade goods sold by npcs.

Isk faucets in game -> mission rewards (isk) , bounties, loot that is sold to npc buy orders (overseer effects, sleeper bits, concord tags)

Thanks for this. I get it now. Terminology, word origin, comprehension, etc, are actually interests of mine. And I admit, sometimes I'm damn slow at picking up the important parts.

Aye, that's the long and short of it. It's all about the total supply of money, not money in any individual's pocket.

I believe one of the big problems causing inflation has been the drone alloys nerf.

While for the most part this as a very good thing, minerals now come from miners as they should. The added bounties are a isk faucet where the old alloys did not generate isk but minerals that would be sold to other players or used to make stuff sold to other players.

The single biggest isk faucet in EVE is bounties. Weather from ratting, plexing, incursions, or missions, bounties are the biggest source of new isk coming into EVE. But how else could combat characters raise funds to support themselves? Bounties, although a large isk faucet is the best option. anything else would only amount to gun mining in which loot is sold or reprocessed once again making mining obsolete. To have loot drops or salvage that can not be reprocessed would only result in the market being flooded with those items dropping the value of the combat players source of income. Bounties are a necessary isk faucet, what we need now is more isk sinks. No matter what the drops would be their value would go down as the supply needed to keep null sec ratters/PVPers in ships would flood the market resulting in a rapid drop in price.

What I would love to see is the ability to change ship colors. Even if it was nothing near as fancy as the cool paint jobs that are supposed to be coming through the NEX store, but just a simple palette of 8-12 colors with one or two sections of a ship hull that can be changed. If this could be done at any station/outpost for isk, and was affordable enough, everyone would do it creating a massive isk sink even though each transaction would be small. 100,000 transactions at 100,000 isk each is 10 billion isk. I doubt you would get that many in a single day but I bet it would be closer to 1,000,000 transactions per month taking possibly 100 billion isk per month out of the game.

who wouldn't be willing to pay 100,000isk to custom color their ship? Even if the customization was extremely limited. That is pocket change for most players. yet it would add up to a decent isk sink.

Just a thought, but there must be some creative ways to add isk sinks to the game that players will actually want to use and not be forced to use.

they actually make slightly less now TBH. I know everyone is saying the price of minerals is up but the drops overall are down. I started tracking missions over a year ago and it was a PITA to keep the loot seperate, but I did it. Now they put the net worth of the loot in your cargo bay and it is slightly lower for most missions.
