Greetings to all my fellow carbon-based lifeforms,

Battleclinic is not helping, and I would rather not use my rusty EFT skills to spend this much. Help save me a few false starts please.

I welcome suggested fits for both Nulsec PvP snoop/raider (nullifier/covert), and Wspace PvE (up to c4-capable). Losing one isn't an issue. Losing one because it was poorly fit is.

Thank you for your attention,

Ed

The defensive part is easy, it's basically just about spending enough money. (Really, is it, A-Type Pith or Gist med shield booster 1x CN Invuln 1x T2 Shield Boost Amp 1x EM Ward field, ain't rocket science) But if you want a covert cloak, a Tengu maxes out around 400 DPS and thats with maxed skills, implants, Estamel's BCU's and faction missiles. If you go HAMs you'll get closer to 500, wohoo.

So IMO, it's much better to drop the whole Covert Reconfiguration idea, use a trial account or second account to scout for you in a frigate and fit a cloak. Allows you to to get past 700 DPS with heavies and 900-1000 with HAMs.

For Tengu PVP, check around for 100mn Tengu fits.

PvE:

Something like this for PVE, but make those CN SBAs T2 (Faction/deadspace SBAs are just not worth the isk)
And a meta 4/faction target painter since T2 are bad

PVP:
http://eve.battleclinic.com/loadout/56133-Tengu-Cheap-100mn-buffer-HML.html

This is the basicly the minimum 100mn Tengu, can faction BCS's but thats preferance, as well as T2 rigs.

Imo, 100mn is awful but its the best bet the solo tengu has.

How much herp could a herp derp derp if a herp derp could herp derp.

You know, I never understood those "cheap Tengu" fits. First you spend like 600M on the hull and subsystems, then you save up on mods? Yeah, that makes sense, that's like pvping in a Machariel with meta 4 guns :p I say, if you spend that much on a hull, you may as well pimp it out too. If you can't afford it, then perhaps Tengu's not the ship you should be flying.

No offense, M1k3y, just expressing my thoughts :)

I agree on what both guys said, btw., especially with the Covert Config subsystem part - you lose waaaay too much dps to consider it a viable option for what's ment to be a combat ship.

Thanks for the replies and the assist. I built two with faction, then downgraded to T2/Faction mix. I agree that pimping a DPS Tengu is smart. T2 mix is fine for scouts that do not fight.

I have a non-cloak Tengu for DPS. I am not looking to fight anyone in my deep wspace scout.

Covert and Nullifier are a must on my scout. If a lone miner pops up, then maybe I will take a shot. Otherwise I am gathering intel only. Looking for a new wspace home and do not want to either dual account or take a sad little covert ops scout.

The T3 is only nullifier capable ship, so nothing else matters. Not everything is about killing. :)

Covert is a must so I do not get smacked around while probing and can warp around cloaked to gather intel safely.

Bubble traps around wspace POSs and whs that I will check out require the use of nullifier. If I come out for supplies in nul, I don't want to be arsed worrying about the standard bubble camps at every lo/nul pipe.

It is basically a souped-up probe ship.

Locus - probes
Nullifier - bubble proof
Covert - warp cloaked
Reinforced cap
Resistance sub - buffer w/large extender and small booster for maintaining and repair after the fact.

I like it so far. I can go where I wish and see what I wish in safety. Some folks like screenshots and intel more than kill mails. :)

Thanks again,

Ed

this looks pretty nice indeed. question though: would a rigor rig fit instead of the exender rig?

I should buy an Ishtar.
