We all know the entry I'm talking about, the bit that explains how jumpgates work by saying its a resonance between two binary stars blah blah blah...

But I am wondering, maybe its a typo?

It say "Between Binary Systems" we have all assumed this means Binary Systems with 2 Stars.

Maybe its between Binary Solar Systems? As in solar systems that are linked to each other by their own gravity.

Then all you would need are systems close enough to be influincing each other?

What do you mean by "linked together" by their own gravity?

In my (admittedly unprofessional) understanding of gravitational interaction, all systems are affected by all other systems' gravitational eddies to some degree, since gravitational energy does not "vanish" with distance but merely decrease until it becomes nigh-undetectable.
