What were some legendarily overpowered ships in the past?

All I can think of was the Falcon, the Rifter and Megathron.

Are there any others?

Not talking about any that are OP right now, just ones that were majorly OP until they got nerfed.

And if they were OP, how were they OP?

If you poke me while I'm fast asleep, I'll jerk awake shouting something about Dramiels.

Dramiel! Perfect, what was overpowered about them?

Please tell me it was their speed.

Titans while they still had the AoE Doomsdays

This one's a bit over the edge guys.

Locked for breaking... well, pretty much all the rules.

Not much has changed on that front.

Well... looking back, it was mainly their ability to prevent me from making defensive use of the directional scanner. That was probably a hidden bonus that got removed with the nerf. I did think there was nothing I could possibly fly (since I only flew laser frigs) that could deal with a Dramiel. But these days? Or in Winter, when the rest of the T1 frigs are removed from the gutter? I'd make a go with a neuting Vengeance or Malediction or ASB Crucifier.

Oh, but then: "if it looks like you can kill them then they can just run away, that's not faaaaaaair."

Sorry, but it got nerfed before I knew anything about this game, and since it's barely flown anymore, I haven't looked at it since.

Prior to various stacking rebalances there have been many, some notable old ones (prior to 2008) include:

Laser BS with stacked damage mods (eg., gank-Geddons).

Missile BS with stacked propulsion mods (eg., Cavalry ravens).

Drone/Nos/Missile BS with stacked mass mods (eg., nano-Phoons and nano-Domis during the nano era).

Today, the imbalance in ships tend to revolve around new ships (Tier 3 BC), XL-blap and ASB.

Things like Falcons, Drakes and SC hitpoints are only really imbalanced per relation (of numbers).

Gangs of kestrels chucking cruise missiles at you while going 30km/s

Torp raven before missile fix, could instapop a webbed frigate.

Supercaps maybe? The ability to take down a pos singlehanded, combined with ewar immunity, remote ecm burst and able to fit enough tank to logoffski and wait out the aggro timer multiplied by New Edens increasingly over rich community seemed pretty OP at the time. Still is now i think of it, even after changes have been made

In terms of raw firepower vs cost, gotta be an old Gankageddon.

7x Mega Pulse with multfreq + 1x or 2x old 90% web + distruptor + 8x Heatsinks.

Well over 2k DPS.

Remote AOE Doomsdays seemed pretty OP at the time. Back when having a couple Titans in your alliance was a MAJOR DEAL.

Eos. Blasters x7 + T2 Ogres x5 = "OMG WTF it's so OP!!!1111!!onetyone!!" in the eyes of many. It wasn't over-powered, especially not in light of how poor information warfare links were and still are, in the overall scheme of things, but compared to other fleet command ships it was. That was enough to get its own b****fest crying for it to be nerfed. Roll

Personally, I really despise this nerf because the eos was a lot more fun to do L4s in than the astarte.

Can't help it... even with lag, I miss some of those old drone swarms. 3 Domis sitting out there like big potatoes, while 30 drones swarmed some poor sap. Brought a tear to my eye. ;)
