Your note is too long

Recently, the in-game notepad has started giving me poblems. I seem to be hitting some 3900 character limit.

I'm using far less than 3900 characters, though. I've had longer notes before, with no problems. My guess is that markup counts as characters, and that it's because I've clicked on a bunch of solar system names to turn them into in-game links, and that the "markup cost" of this is apparently very high.

I like having hyperlinks in my notes, and it's only about 20 system names that are clickable.

Is there a solution to this? I think limiting notes to 3900 characters in the first place is stupid. How about 12k or 15k? EVE is a complex game, and sometimes note-taking requirements are heavy duty. Also, perhaps the hyper-links shouldn't be so costly in terms of markup. Turning Jita into a hyperink to Jita system should be doable mark-up wise with something like (sol:Jita) so addding only something like 6 characters. Yet it looks as if the mark-up cost used by the game is much higher.

What to do?
