You're most likely part of a minority, I'm glad you enjoy to play Eve the way you are and I hope you're happy in your heart. I'm just not sure CCP should develop the game around your play style !

no no no.
not in any way have I ever asked for anything to be changed, aside from the tooltips that recently came out.
I was just stating, the person above had said that everyone pve's and so it should be made more fun. or some senseless bullshit.

Maybe it is time for you to move on OP, if you can't make yourself happy why play it in the first place?

Just don't think that the rest of us have your boring and depressed view on this great game.

Indeed maybe it's my time to move on, but after sinking over 500$ in this game and HELPING making it what it is today, so that people like you can continue to enjoy it for years to come, I guess I have the right to write a post about this great game and the way I feel about it without having to take trash from forum watchdogs.

wowzers.
You have the right to post on these forums what you want about this game, but not because your stuck up self entitlement or money ill spent.

And I would say nobody has the right to post anything without taking trash from forum watchdogs.
You post your sad ideas on these forums because you want to take trash from forum watchdogs.

gosh sorry OP, but you make it so easy.
first, entitled attitude.
second, only $500? over 4 years?
I have spent that in <4mo on EVE
although that does not give me any right,
I use their software while they allow me to.

on an edit note: I find it funny how people complain about sub prices and act as if they are forced to pay these.
This is just a service, they tell you how much it costs, and you decide to pay it or not.

I've been playing Eve for nearly 4 years now, and I'm at this stage when I look back on the amount of cash spent on this game and the amount of fun I got in return and how the game evolved since I started playing.

Here's the features that I consider well done and are the greatest new stuff CCP managed to introduce to my gaming experience in 4 years.

1. The waypoint displayed horizontaly instead of verticaly was probably the greatest UI idea ever made by CCP.
2. New asteroids, planets, nebulea graphics and ships shaders
3. Improved UI for probing
4. New ships
5. Browsing internet inside the game
6. New War declaration system

I can't think of anything else really. Incursions could have been in this list but it's PVE without a challenge since the gangs are generally quite big and I must admit I missed the incursion fun days when I was in 0.0. Also, i've never lived in wormholes, the exploration side of things interests me a little but living out of a POS is a major turn off. New ships are great, but it's like introducing a new gun in a shooter, it might be fun for a while, but the feeling is short lived. So, the amount of fun generated from this compilation of new creations by CCP is nearly 0.

I read most of the CSM Meeting minutes and i got the feeling priorities is on the stuff that affects a few people and won't generate any fun for the masses in the end. Also there's no point investing many months of dev on a small feature that will be used by a minority !

4 years is a long time, many games like Skyrim, Shogun Total war, Assassin's creed, Mass effect, GTA IV, [...] were proably made within a 4 years timeframe and the amount of content and fun is quite high. In my 4 years playing Eve, all the expansions put together never brought anything close to the amount of fun i'd get from a 60$ blockbuster game.

I got into Diablo 3 lately and when they announced patch 1.04 I was suprised to read the blizzard game designer refering to farming in a positive way. They are aware that farming is part of their game and they want to make it as fun as possible. In Eve, farming is a bad thing and they don't see it as something to encourage. That's a mistake because farming or grinding is at the core of all Eve activities. In my view, this should be the priority for the next expansion combined with this http://jestertrek.blogspot.ca/2012/07/thats-just-way-it-is.html.

The funny part is that many are in denial about this game and sooner or later the **** will hit the fan once again for CCP

As a believer that one of the important parts of an MMO is the social aspect, everything in an MMO is more often than not boring without any interaction with other people. When mining you have time to actually get to know your corpmates while doing something productive, sure grinding and so on could always be better but it shouldn't try to compete with the interaction with other players.

As for EVE being expensive over the years, look at how much time you spend playing the game each month and compare it to the price, 14$ for the time spent each month vs the one time 60$ for a full game and see how much you "spend" an hour playing that. A single player game for that price might last 12 hours if you are lucky, maybe some replay-worth and you are looking at 24-30 hours before tiring on it.

What was most worth it?

Thanks for the reply, I had to think a little bit about this and my conclusion is that playing Eve a lot makes you pass on other very good games, now I can get those games under 10$ on steam specials and all of them are already patched, entertaining from start to finish and can offer over 200 hours of gameplay, i'm thinking about the total war series, Skyrim, Assassin's creed series, Batman Arkham City etc... So for 80$ I can get 2 years worth of gaming and rotate between the games to keep things interesting.

In Eve if you played 200 hours, the majority of the time is spent grinding isk to finance funnier activities or managing your assets to increase your wallet or seeking targets. In the end, you spent 200 hours on your computer to be entertained for 20 hours, if you're lucky.

What I proposed is that CCP focus on the grinding part since the majority of people do it and hopefully 150 hours/200 hours will be entertaining.

Hahaha. Cool
Usually you need to 'P' someone really off to feel their wrath reaching from the forums into the game.

Stuff you forgot, worm holes, CCP's best idea to make their game bigger, giving everybody small a chance to fly and build/ live in null sec space and! no local.

- Near removal of timers.
- Shortening downtime from 1 hour to almost 6 minutes.
- Make those little avatars that pop-up right below when you have them in your following list, intractable.
- Drones try to get to their drone bay if you dc.
- Drones can be reconnected with after a dc.
- TD.
- Overhaul mining vessels.
- Introduction T3's
- No more learning skills.
- Skill queue.
- Tax on NPC corps.
- Removing free form contracts.
- Seriously going after bots.
- Revamped ships fitting.
- Revamping the sidebar
- Adding a jump (trough stargate) button.
- Bringing back ship spinning with! a counter.
- Moving reprocess away from repackage on ships. :P
- Put shuttle building into the hands of players.
- Adding an agent finder.
- Adding a cargo hold bar.
- Filters everywhere.
- Make cans in other places then where you're docked searchable.
- Market quickbar.
- PLEX.
- Revamp the available contracts screen.
- Make EVE mail available from outside EVE.
- Optimizing the fleet window.
- Adding fleet advertizements.

And tons & tons of more stuff, sometimes so small you only notice it when you use it then makes you think, omg this is soooo much better then before.

So if I have paid say, triple the amount that you have paid, does that mean I get to override you like we're on a board of director meeting or something? Also, are you keeping track of your expenses for a tax write off or something?

You need to remember EVE doesn't give us content to consume it supplies us the tools to create content.

When we (the players) create that content there is the fun to be found. If you are relying on CCP to create content for you I think you might have been playing the wrong game for a long time.

The Jukebox is a good improvement from EVE of 4 years ago. Used to you could only play the EVE soundtrack stuff. Mine's currently playing old Lightnin' Hopkins Texas blues. Doesn't match wormhole ambience at all. Smile

sheesh, such hate for 1 persons opinion (OP), I rather agree, there are good and bad points in this game, but all and all its always about the individual's tastes and dislikes,.....you know one man's junk is another's treasure.

NeX FailQuitters.

Epic. Cool

Oh, and spending hours shooting at indestructible statues in Jita and Amarr. Up until that point gatecamps was the SINGLE worst use of one's money (ie, subs fees).

It somewhat worked didn't it? Brought attention to the situation from a grand scale matched with mass unsubs also causes CCP to quickstep back into focus. Not that I was part of that group, just saying.

Also Apocrypha was one of the best things to happen to Eve, not just because of what it added, but also showed that CCP could do a expansion of that size without (majorly)messing anything up. It also boosted subs and peoples interest in the game. Ofc CCP decided to do away with Apocrypha style expansions due to :effort:.
