Warp scramblers (but not disruptors) shut down microwarpdrives.

No it hasn't, but the change was made back in Quantum rise(2008), so it's been around for a long time.

No, there was a time when neither would shut down MWD's.

In those days another couple things of relevance was different as well...

Stasis webifiers had a 90% velocity drop (today they have 60%), and every level of diminishing return as you put more webs on targets scaled-off slower, so a combination of disruption and webs were about as potent as scram-web today.

There were also no Heavy interdictor ships back then so the number of warp-strength to your disruption strength mattered more. Heavy interdictors brought disruptions with inifinite "points".

Scramblers back then had the appeal that they provided two points of disruption at half the range. While disruptors only provided one point of disruption. In that time it was more common to see people play more with the warp-element in the game. Putting warp-strength on your ship and utilizing larger (warpable-) distances was also more common.

That's why the warp-strength modules still to this day have negative sensor-modifiers to them, because warping was closer tied to on-grid range.

Good luck with your future endeavours in the game Khaz Smile.
