I see it hasn't been mentioned yet but i think Eve University accepts fresh new pilots and they are a null corp designed to show you the ropes.

Any alliance or corp worth their salt is going to want to see an API. While a newer player with some references might be able to get themselves into a decent corp in null sec, the odds are stacked against you being accepted into anything with any meat.

With limited skill points, there frankly would not be much for you to do in null other than run web and scram frigs and be a peon until you get your skills together to fly something more worth your while.

Money making would be extremely limited, especially if you want to focus on combat.

If I was you, I would wait a couple of months, get your legs under you, and go from there. Jumping into null with little to no game experience is just going to get you in trouble (scammed or murdered) anyway.

I can point you towards a couple of really good high sec corps that might be able to help you get prepared for your eventual jump to null sec if you are interested.

Yeah I don't mind the API thing so much - got nothing to hide.

Looked at RvB, maybe I should go there for a while?
Not sure if they have ship replacement though. I'd have to get Tradeskills up to secure an income with minimal distraction.

Any good corps info you could give would be much appreciated.

FYI in case it matters - I'm concentrating on flying pure Gallente, drones/hybrids, armor tank. No plans to go further than battleship at most.

Trading is one of the few professions in eve that actually require some RL skill. Wouldn't advice it to a new player as source of income. You need to have extensive knowledge of pricing of goods in eve and how to manipulate the market. A certain start capital is required as well.

As for your OP. Only way to find out is to actually go. See it as a lottery. You could get shot on sight or you could get lucky and find a cool outfit that will give you a home.

Reopen the EVE gate so we can invade Serenity. Goons can go first.

Eve university is not a null corp. IIRC their members aren't even allowed in true nullsec. EvE university is a true training school for new pilots on all fields of eve. They do not engage in alliance souvereignity wars as it would go against their corporate mission. Imagine training fleets being targeted on all sides by the major alliances. Wouldn't work. They do roam low sec in some of their classes but only for training purposes and with respect for other corps who live there (unless aggroed ofc). They also have occasional training wars with corps alliances sympathetic to their cause.

After graduation you might get recruited by a null corp however as a well trained, active pilot is an asset to any alliance.

Essentially its down to personal preference. I think 0.0 is boring and much preffer null. I only go to null for small incursions into alliances space. If you go down and love the atmosphere of your alliance then you will obviously enjoy it more and maybe one day decide to go solo. People who think null is the best unconditionaly are foolish. Try it and see what you think, Dont like it then try something else.
