Smooth Camera/ Mouse in space..

Okay, I have a problem that I find very annoying. I'm not sure if I'm the only one on the planet with this problem, or if other people have it too, but just don't mind it.

Smooth mouse/camera movement, it feels like im moving my mouse through syrup when i'm in space. On stations theres no problem at all, totally sharp 1:1 mouse reaction. Now, my experience is that for many games, turning off Vsync solves the issue, but not in EvE :( I've pretty much tried everything, anyone got a sollution/advice for this? And, btw, the 'smooth camera' checkbox in settings doesn't seem to do anything.
